  1. Tempering feels terrible because it can literally brick a perfectly rolled item. Doesn't feel rewarding at all. Even when you do roll what you want. It's more of just a relief that you didn't brick…

  2. I think tempering is ok. I also think that a "material" that could reset an items tempering would be nice.

    I also believe a material to block out 1 of the temper options you dont want your item to roll on would also be nice.

    Overall, the temper system is fine. If you brick an item, you should just grind till you find a similar item or a better one. Im enjoying the game, and I've bricked 2 triple greater affix items, lol.

  3. Completely bricking an item early game, not so bad. Incorporate Greater Affixes and bricking those? Mental defeat. If they can incorporate a “reset” with a rare mat or something. To make it fair, if you reset a bricked item, it gets a -5% decrease to a random stat, give and take kind of like a tax system.

  4. I do think they should just scrap the affix ranges and choose a middle point and leave it at that. So if it does 90-110% just make it a flat 100%. Edit: or another great idea is let us choose like enchanting, so keep or swap, but it still take up a temper roll

  5. the Devs talked about a journey with items – the issue is with tempering as you can "brick" your item before the journey even starts – I don't know how to do it but masterworking and tempering need to be the other way around somehow – I do like both systems its just a pain when you get a triple GA I don't want to temper it before I've even started !!

  6. I think tempering overall is a good system. However I don't always look forward to using it. Permanently bricking a good item feels terrible. By good I mean an item with well rolled affixes or greater affixes. I think tempering needs a recovery process. Make it incredibly expensive. 10 million gold or more, and or make it cost a large portion of rare crafting or summoning mats. Cost prohibitive enough to not be used all the time, but a way to save our extremely rare well rolled items. Also some type of previously rolled affix exclusion would be nice. Using all of my rolls and getting the same useless affix every single time is smash my PS5 rage inducing.

  7. It is gambling. For me, I pick an acceptable fall back roll when I reach the last chance so the item isn't useless. It's not a perfect solution, but it stings a lot less and I can still use the object.

  8. How about if there is an item similar to scattered prisms that can add a tempering reroll to an item. Or the item gives you on one of your rerolls multiple affixes to choose from.

  9. Dartlin Gaming released a video a couple weeks ago highlighting different patents that blizzard owns that may or may not be implemented into the game. Its worth the watch. Stuff like finding better loot based on playtime, collecting data of items and skills to weight the drops of certain items, the "pity" mechanic. Well worthe the watch. I dont like it because ive bricked 3 crossbows back to back rolling the exact temper 15x in a row, just a different value. If they made it so you cant roll the same thing back to back, it would be a huge win. Make it so i can choose to keep previous would make it even better, would make me want to use all the tempers to try and get a higher value.

  10. Heres another idea that's kind of out there. How about GA items give you extra tempers for every GA affix? Still retain the rng factor, but the added durability and rarity of item allows for more attempts to get what you need.

  11. Tempering is straight up dog shite. I bricked a 3 GA weapon I grinded for over 2 weeks because i rolled 9 times and didnt get the affix i was looking for. I rolled the same affix 5 times in a row. That makes me feel like the devs dont respect my time playing thr game. I dont gamble in real life and I dont want to gamble in a video game i play for fun. I play Diablo to challenge myself and make skillful plays. There is npthing skillful about RNG on RNG on RNG. Like it or not, trmpering is driving more people away from the game then is bringing them to it and the devs need to change it.

  12. I love it but it sucks when I find a god tier item and the game opts to fuck me over and not give the rolls I need on it turning it into a paper weight. The amount of times I had to ditch something as it rolled badly is insane, like with my Rouge I bricked 25 bows and crossbows in a row. I have noticed my rolls do seem to improve rather significantly if I respec my build before hand. Like I am running a Rapid Fire Rogue and if I respec to Barrage before I temper I get nothing but rapid fire rolls and vice versa. Once I noticed this the problem got a lot better. Annoying I have to respec quite often but better then losing anymore god tier items. Worst item I bricked it was a triple greater affix legendary on a bow with massive critical strike, max life and Vulnerability all rolled at max but the game rolled +chance to fire twice with Barrage 6 times in a row. Respeced to Barrage after that but was genuinely pissed for 3 days after that

  13. The current system is so punishing to players who choose to find everything themselves instead of using 3rd party trading sites. I have no job no school and play 18 hours a day and my gear is average at best because of this…and I WILL NEVER use a trading site because at that point I'm playing a browser not the game.

  14. I think it's great because it makes you value the items much much more, and it gives you a lot more to work towards in the end game, if people got what they wanted so easy people would be either making an alt faster or quitting the game. could it be tweaked & made even better sure?

  15. I would rather tempering be more deterministic. The rng comes in just getting the item itself. If I need fire res on an armor, just let me put it on there and move on.
    Im glad it in the game but let’s change this aspect of it.

  16. I think we should be able to use scattered prisms to add single temper rolls. The number of scattered prism cost can vary by GA. This way we can add a single temper add a time.

    Also would be great to choose to keep the temper that we have already.

  17. I love/hate tempering. I've heard there's a weight system to certain tempers. I play a Sorc and I should not get thorns 5 times in a row with only threes tempers in that category. This has happened on many items so it's not just bad luck. If they made it equal weighting within the category it would make trying to get the temper you want at least a fair shot.

  18. Tempering is a great idea, I love the direction. But I feel like there should be less useless stats that can roll. I think maybe making it more expensive to keep rolling. Masterworking is great, only change id like, is after spending all the time to get it to 12, let us pick the final roll.

  19. There has to be a chance to fail when you have so much control on what gets added…
    else you might as well just load a character builder page straight into the blacksmith and have the game just create bis items, then your done, EZ
