I talk about why I think gold gear is a bit too strong and go over some things I think that need to happen for next wipe to nerf it down.

  1. I don't play much but i play other games. The fact you can craft items and know their rolls before every 30mins is so stupid. At that point you might as well just let people pick the rolls. What's the point of the rolls? Minor inconvenience?

  2. Occultist robe is such a dumb piece of gear lol. I would like for the stats to be hidden because it would take gold gear out of circulation and make good pieces a lot more valuable(and who doesnt love some craft gambling). Also probably nerf the base stats by 1 across the board for gold gear so looted legendary gear can be better.

  3. Yeah it's less about the gear itself but the disparity between players that just run it down with PvP and the people who have trio squads running boss fights. Especially now that they made crypts only trios. So maybe you get some stuff from GC bosses but even there's no gold ore to mine. Solo players vs people who do both solo's and trios with a good squad creates too much of a disparity in what's available to them.

  4. They spent so long decreasing gear gaps in months of patches just to release gold gear to increase the ceiling of high tier gear and remove variety of gear pieces. horrible addition to the game off rip

  5. +3 all on cloaks are ridiculous. +all was always a problem stat and the game improved a lot when they stopped allowing it on items. Maybe adjusting crafts to be more random or you can't see the stats you get would be better but regardless…. +all is still a problem. I don't think it deserves to be on anything but maybe necklaces and the shadow masks.

  6. The occultist robe in general is so messed up the occultist tunic which is meant to be the strength version has -9 instead of -5 and no MR which means it's the only warlock chest piece WITHOUT MR at all and it's slower and has a worse stat it should be criminal how they balanced that gear

  7. I think having blind rolls just makes more gear disparity like in the past, the market helps equalize prices a lot so people have more options to balance the field. I think gold is more of a fear factor.

  8. Gold gear can be beaten, but not by the majority of gear that's available. Your smoking crack if you think you can win against a competent player in gold bruh, that's not a hot take that's reality.

  9. …you also gave about 5 good reasons as to why gold gear is so hard to beat, and then you follow up by saying its not hard to beat, bruh the contradiction is through the ROOF. It's a majority opinion that says that gold gear sucks.

  10. Gold gear isn't the problem, the real problem is the fact that bosses (lich etc) don't have a weekly lockout attempt.

    This game will NEVER have gear balance until they bring in a weekly lockout for boss loot/access to the treasure room, the problem with the game is anyone with half a brain just spam kills bosses for the first 5 days of every wipe and by doing so you're literally geared for an entire season.

    Spend a few days with your duo non stop farming lich and you will have 5 characters max stacked piece of piss, this is what is wrong with the game, the reason why gold farming is outrageous is because of players like this (myself included) who just abuse the fact that you can spam kill a piss easy boss, that for some reason NO ONE DOES for outrageous gear, i had 3 uniques SECOND DAY of the wipe thats without rolling on the merchant that is PURE BOSS LOOT, thats not right, the game SHOULDN'T be like that.

    Weekly lockout for loot on boss, if you bring someone who has the lockout, the boss doesn't drop loot for any of you.
    You havto be level 20 for the boss to drop loot for you
    You havto be level 20 to open the door to the treasure room.
    Honestly i'd also make it that you'd havto be level 15 to even go into Inferno area.

    Simple as fuck fix, literally saved the game, but nah Ironmace gonna just nerf wizard or change rogue for the millionth time, instead of addressing whats truely wrong with the game which is gear.

  11. They should let you choose the main stat and 1 random attribute, then have the rest of the rolls be random so that youre guarenteed an OK gold piece. makes sense that you would tell the blacksmith what kind of weapon or armor trait you would like

  12. My take as an above avrg but not super good player is, that this gear is making the gear gap smaller. The giga sweats will have bis gear either way, gold crafts or not, they will have it and roll ppl with it. For a less sweaty player. This makes it obtainable in the first place and it makes regearing less hard and frustrating to do. I really like how the crafting is atm and how the gear balance is atm. Yes gold cloaks are broken but it makes it in some ways very exiting when u see one and get the chance to loot it if u win the fight

  13. i just dont even want to go above green AP rank because as soon as you reach blue AP rank its gold teams and generally competetive players, atleast in trios that is.

    call it a skill issue and all that but i just want to play casually and farm bosses, facing gold teams so much gets annoying

  14. If the base stats are going to be strong; either there shouldn't be random rolls or they need to be innately weaker.

    If you finish the quests and get paid for crafts, you now have infinite source of money outside of the dungeon. Once you have so much money from outside of the dungeon, nothing prevents you from gearing up every time you go in.

    Meanwhile the more casual players; who perhaps tend to play duo/trios with the boys rather than grind solo rank, have a more difficult time completing quests. Coincidentally, its also really hard to get the boys to play the game, when they load into a lobby with your gold trio twice in a row and get wiped both times. There's a large skill difference sure that led to our defeat, but say we wanted to disengage, we are much slower since we don't have golden cloaks or multiple + move speed items.

    Its not just streamers like you though, almost every trio lobby as early as december has had at least one golden group. (between golden-cloaks -> mostly legendaries and uniques)

    Once you wipe five or six times in a row, that stash of gear you built up from surviving multiple raids hitting green/blue rank, disappears. And your gold disappears buying replacement gear, or healing, etc.

    Gear score lobbies are needed, and if you think that means that the best of the best geared people will never get into a lobby, then IM needs to tone the best of the best gear down. Legendary gear has too many random rolls(Specifically that 3-4 good rolls is insane), and legendary crafts at least need a long reset timer. One golden cloak per player a week or something, then there won't be an infinite number in circulation.

  15. I did the quests and endup not crafting anything, because checking the rolls is just so boring that i rather just go in the marketplace and just buy it. Honestly i think they should buff it somehow, because i wont bother doing the quests for that

  16. Well you still have to grind all the quest to be able to make them as well. Maybe if there was a certain things though when you unlock the crafts that maybe you can only unlock a certain number of crafts that you choose. Mr Toddfather. Most people that play the game play it solo. Biggest majority for sure. That means also that most people that can craft these items are the ones doing bosses and plays mostly trios. Which must be maybe what less than 20% of the playerbase? Maybe 10%? Check those numbers as well. Maybe if you want to make it harder to craft these stuff instead of limiting the number of refreshes it has or something like that just make the materials for it harder to get.

  17. I feel like the problem is not just gold gear (though it has a large impact as its all lightweight). I think the move speed cap has to be brought down to like 320 or something. BIS rolled loose trousers + Lightfoots + Gold Cape + move speed jewelry is actually impossible to play against. Before I grinded out BIS kits, I remember just getting run down so easily by any gold team.

  18. Maybe gold gear should weigh more and have more of a ms penalty? The general rule is almost always the beefier you get the slower you should become, but that is actually the opposite of what is happening here. I'd even be fine increasing the luck property to compensate. The current hp+ms meta (which will probably never really change) only further widens the gap when you're gear checking people. Everyone guaranteed having close to 2x the base hp and being generally inescapable is just far too much of an imbalance to overcome in most situations. And to your other comment of the 30minute merchant scan, it just doesn't provide any meaningful engagement or effort. There is a clear reason why we've seen changes like this with the candy vendors, granted NOBODY likes the feeling of crafting a dud, but if it's a +5vigor or +3all and has 4 random properties, the likelihood it has nothing good is actually really low, and then the demand for the materials will increase and the price of the "duds" will decrease making it more readily available. This brings me to another aspect worth exploring which is having more variance in choice for endgame gear. For a complete system overhaul, I'd really like to see one that revolved around imbuing equipment you already have rather than crafting brand new stuff that you don't have any say over. We're already utilizing an epic piece of gear to generate the gold one, then when you bring it and the proper mats to the merchant it would upgrade it to gold or silver, and just add on the bonus random property and the extra effects like monster damage or luck. You can actually keep the full rng crafts as an option so that you can recycle non bis gear as well to keep demand for that up. You may choose to have price variances depending on how many stats you want to keep, etc. Hell, we could make it to where the upgrade merchant is an actual NPC that spawns in game so you have to do upgrade runs and things of that nature. Or you start having more psuedo random property distributions, or limit things like you can't have two movespeed rolls or two hp rolls on one piece of gear, or vigor static gear can't roll hp etc. In the end there are tons of other systems that we can discuss and I genuinely hope that the devs won't stagnate with the current uninspired methods.

  19. As a solo only myself not wanting to grind bosses forever to Apollo them myself it feels really bad that I can’t craft them on my own though I may have the gold and all that I feel at minimum the quest to unlock it should be changed
