  1. True that, it's like a phantasmagoria that responds to what you bring. I went in 2006 and had a net positive experience, not drawn toward any of the big parties or orgies it was more like a wandering monk experience for me. As a lover of the night sky it was absolutely amazing how many stars I could see, Orion and Sirius grand features with which I experienced my own flavor of spiritual amazement. Then the grand blazes at the end were simply overwhelming to witness, I'd never seen that much fire at one time in my life and never since. Glad I went once, but never again. It was only 100 bucks for my low income ticket back then, and it wasn't so depraved and dangerous until a couple of years later.

  2. If those drug addled attendees really believed that carbon dioxide causes anthropogenic global warming why would they burn so much lumber and release huge volumes of carbon dioxide? Driving and flying to that fragile ecosystem using fossil fuels also contributes to anthropogenic global warming (if it exists). Additionally, why would they waste so much usable lumber when people are homeless?

  3. Well, many New Age festivals seem to get more and more into this demonic vibe lately. Just another hacking of a well intended community at the beginning- like it was done with environmentalists, human right/minority activists, feminists, progressists and others…Tired of seeing this everywhere, this perversion that hits people that think they actually are working for the good but are so mistaken . Anyway, a good subject JP, and I remember you had some nice videos about the "ultra spiritual " pple already long time ago!

  4. Love your channel JP but I feel your perspective here is rather myopic. The encounter between Bryce and the couple at the end is typical of how people interact at Burning Man – the philosophy, principles, and environment encourage people to set aside their judgments and greet one another with openness, curiosity, and a desire to connect on commonalities rather than differences. As a conservative burner I am in the minority, however I've always felt that I can discuss anything at the Burn and be met with openness and love.

When people talk about getting to be themselves at the Burn, they are referring to how daily life often requires us to put on a mask (to fit in, at work, in social situations) whereas the Burn is judgment-free. As the man at the end said, it's also one of, if not the most creatively vibrant place anywhere in the World, where ideas and projects combine with energy and the human spirit comes alive.

You stated you have no interest in going, but as a freedom-loving person I think it would resonate a lot more than you think.

  5. I know someone who lives in the area. He's gone 2 or 3 times now (supposedly to make money) He definitely partakes in the whatever. He sez he's a Christian. It definitely opened my eyes to the condition of his heart.

  6. Orgy dome… You son of a… I'm in!

I just enjoy some of the music. I watched a video from Nomad Brad and I thought it was really cool and interesting with the lights, music and art. Just a different kind of experience you can't really find elsewhere.

  7. It’s 100% debauchery and false idolization defended by lies. I’ve been there. I’ve seen it all. It’s a made up desert version of New Year’s Eve for days. I mean this in the sense of partying and music and food leading up to a night of “the burn”. Then people burn out and leave the mess to others. Even like a carnival. It’s fenced off to collect trash and keep the effed up people from wandering too far into the dark desert. People can do what they want. I’m just saying it how it is. Let’s be honest. It’s a big party for days.

  8. I have been to Burning Man, and all it is is a party for entitled weekend warriors stroking their own egos, who want to be edgier than the next person, pretending to be spiritual and enlightened, when in reality, they are just drones and sheep who have enough money to waste to go hang out in the desert so they can come home and brag about what they did to people who can't afford to go.

  9. I would like to go to burning man. I have gone to burn in the forest which is a regional burn that happens here in BC and it was straight the best festival I've ever been to. I dig that vibe. I'm starting to feel, increasingly; that I don't dig your vibe. basically with burning man there is darkness there and there is also light. Like unequivocally there is light there, there is beauty there. as there is everywhere.

  10. You can get closer to God and you can see spirits with just a speck of mescaline and a few minutes later the walls melt, don’t expect to be able to close your eyes for a while and every cigarette you smoke will taste like gasoline and expect that to pop up three years later because that’s how long it stays in your body. LSD stays in your system for 7 years.

  11. Wow JP you lost a lot of respect from me for this video. I am sure there are thousands of Freedom Warriors who are also Burners (people that attend Burning Man) just like me that agree with me.

You mock the event and say people there are spiritually bypassing and the event is about drinking, drugs and promiscuity.

But then you see those same people accept a Christian for his story, his beliefs and who he is as a HUMAN.

That is literally one of the Burning Man principles that you read out. Radical Inclusion. We accept all those no matter their skin color, nationality, religion or beliefs. It is a lifestyle that should be spread throughout the world and would improve our society as a whole.

You singling out the alcohol, drugs and sex makes you the exact same as the mainstream media that only focuses on one aspect about Burning Man just for a headline.

Like any City of 50,000-80,000 people, YES there will be bars and alcohol, YES there will be drugs, and YES there will be sex… IF YOU LOOK FOR IT AND THAT IS YOUR INTENTION.

What you are missing about Burning Man is so much more it would take me multiple more paragraphs to write out.

Up until today I have always appreciated and respected you for your viewpoints. But unfortunately today it seems like maybe you have become just another closed minded Christian….

I am sure myself and a number of your friends and followers would appreciate an opportunity for learning and growth by having an X Space with yourself and some members from your local Burning Man community to educate you and your followers about what Burning Man really is and what it represents.
