Is 2023 Make or BREAK for Yamaha? | Crash MotoGP Podcast EP.79

Fabio Quartararo delivered the 2021 MotoGP championship as a Yamaha rider but the year since has been difficult.

His bid to retain his title fell apart due to a sub-par bike and, ahead of the 2023 season, Yamaha have lost their satellite team and are grappling with engine decisions.

Could they acquire the Mooney VR46 team to reinvigorate themselves?

  1. The one thing that really bugs me on the subscription front is you cannot pay to just watch your chosen sport, how much of my monthly fee is going to those overpaid footballers? great podcast as always guys.

  2. Can't afford to pay to watch it anymore, I watch the highlights on itv x for free, will do the same with moto gp, Bt sport is ridiculous, especially as all I watch is moto gp.

  3. Sustainable fuel? Here's an inconvenient truth. Oil is the second most abundant liquid on the planet, after water. It's referred to as "fossil fuel", but fossils have only been found down to 16,000ft below the surface. Oil wells commonly go to 35,000ft.

  4. Totally agree with Keith, we need to see presenters getting the gossip around the paddock in Superbike like btsport, really boring to just turn on tv and watch a race! I hope the powers that be realise this soon.

  5. Whenever I hear the CO2 nonsense brought up I just think how stupid we are as humans. C02 is carbon this planet is made up of carbon we are carbon based beings. The global climate change crowd is nothing more than a power grab and a new religion. The science is akin to the flat earth crowd. Where’s the evidence C02 is 3 to 4 tenths of one percent of the atmosphere. Climate is controlled by that big fucking yellow ball in the sky along with the clouds. We all want a clean environment just quick making up scare tactics up to support your fake science, flat earther’s and global warming cults. The earth climate is ever changing and if anything we’re moving closer to the next ice age. Forget electric vehicles they didn’t work 100 years ago and they won’t work today, nobody has the electric grid that could handle them as they are all at the max limit now. Keep racing pure we don’t need the social BS or the climate cult stuff, it’s simple treat your neighbors as you would want yourself treated!

  6. now i know im old school but having loved bike racing and watched for years, i now dont watch any races much now . having to pay and giving up many a sunny Sunday i find myself less interested these days.
Yes i now see more commentators who have no passion for the sport and very little knowledge, i think i would like to be able to watch races any time not to fussed about being live but easy access. i like crash net because i can watch it at any time rewind it if needed.
now my view is for moto gp and wsb should give you free coverage for full races lets say two days after race, that will get more people interested able to watch a full race any time so the long term more people going to races and subscribing to watch live thats the way to get younger people interested
when i was a young lad i watch races free not all live and thats what got me into the sport and kepy my interest for 65 years plus

  8. The motogp commentators are the people that got me into motogp and got me to pay for the motogp streaming pass. 3 years ago, I knew nothing about motogp, but I learned from the comentators.

  9. Going from watching WSBK last weekend to then watching the F1 they were miles apart. I prefer my motorcycle racing, but as a show the hours of coverage and interviews prior to the race and post race , as well as the grid walk etc makes the F1 so much better to watch and even though i prefer motorcycle racing as a i said , makes me want to watch the F1 a lot more!

  10. I'm going to stick my neck out and make this prediction now….

Rins will do well, Mir won't. I don't know why it doesn't make sense but that's just my feeling. I think Rins is a faster rider than Mir, just not consistent enough.

  11. I watch the broadcast to get the Sporting News from the presenter during the broadcast.
During practice or qualifying, very little on track action, but the presenter can make the program top notch.
