Interview with the Monster Hunter – Up close and personal with horror royalty!

Hollywood filmmaker Sam Irvin (director of ELVIRA’S HAUNTED HILLS) looks back at his outrageously charmed and hilarious life as a closeted gay monster kid who created his own fanzine as a way to meet and interview his horror film idols.
We talk about his new book, I Was a Teenage Monster Hunter!: How I Met Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, & More! and discuss the queerness of horror.

  1. Great interview for pride month obviously. I don't know if you've been told this often, but you are an excellent interviewer, and one of your greatest skills is the degree to which you just listen and let your subject speak and follow them wherever they go. It seems obvious and easy, but it is clearly neither as evidenced by the preponderance of interviewers who fail at it

  2. Absolutely brilliant interview. One of the best interviews I’ve seen on YouTube yet. Well done you ( and Sam, of course. ) I too am a big fan of classic gothic horror. Blessings,❤.

  3. am i the only one who thinks your Vampire Vlogs or some new form of reviews should make a comeback,
I really think it would help with the algorythm if there would be more videos, aswell es some on topics which are more current. like the Renfield Movie now. I love your Videos on some more obscure Movies, but I realy think it would be helpfull with videos that are more quantity inbetween

  4. I wasn't expecting Oblivion 1 and 2 to come up. How lovely. What a nice hangout movie Oblivion 2 was, as in everyone from the first movie seemed to be just hanging out for the course of it.
