  1. The topic is interesting and needed but what worries me is implementation. When can we expect changes to the curriculum? The military is the most conservative institution out there. Couple of examples from the US.

    Look up some one called Billy Mitchell. Fought in WW1 and was convinced the US needed an airforce. The pushback he got to the idea at the time was stunning. Total opposition. Seems crazy if we see how warfare developed. Another is theaterisation. The US was going in this direction in the 80s. Again, the opposition was fierce. It wasn't until they fired 60 general's that the process got going.

    Defeat or failure is the best catalyst. Some credit the loss in '62 to spurring much needed change in the IA. No way we'd have had' 71 without it or even survived '65. Take the sino Vietnam War in' 79. Because the PLA took a high number of casualties it forced Deng to change the way the PLA worked.
