This video takes us along the Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route, through the beautiful state of Idaho – probably one of the most underrated states for overlanding. On this trip, we tackle some of the sections that stopped us on the Overland Movie.

  1. How much time does it add to a trip to fly the drone in all of these spots along your drive? How do you fly it while on the move? It seems like too much of a hassle for me but your shots are obviously worth it thanks! I'd probably crash mine into a tree anyways

  2. You keep upping your game with every video. That's radio audio with id's in the bottom corner is class. Seriously amazing work that just keeps getting better and better. Thanks Rob, for sharing your travels. Awesome stuff!

  3. This was an awesome video. Thanx for taking me along.
So you put the tundra to the test? How did you like it? I mean it didn’t break down. I too have a tundra and want to try a lil over landing. Have to admit a lil scared cuz I know nothing and neither does my husband and we are oldies not young anymore. Seeing you out there with your tundra makes me jealous. My truck is not an off road but it does have 4X4.

  5. Glad you're getting back into the long form videos. I realize they probably don't get as many clicks, and not as many people watch all the way through in this day and age of 3 minute attention spans, but I am a fan. Keep it up!
Also a big fan of the IDBDR as well, I did it about five years back. 🍻

  6. We did the Idaho Traverse this last summer also but in a Ram 2500 with a 4Wheel Camper. First thing I bought when I got home was a cordless chainsaw for my overlanding arsenal. Did you see the “Baum Shelter” in Warren Idaho? Looked sketchy so we didn’t stop. Got online after and it is a highly rated bar/burger joint. A destination for overlanders and snowmobile folks. Wish we would have stopped. The whole trek is beautiful. We we on route during fires and got detoured also.

  7. That ending! So glad you made it back. And that you have a healthy baby. My wife went into labor when I was 5 hours away from home buying a camper for our truck so I totally appreciate it. And kudos for already having taking the little one out. Lastly, great video of the Idaho BDR. As someone who will hopefully be moving to Idaho sooner than later, I appreciate you sharing your experience and all the sights from this trip!

  8. Spectacular video. I grew up in Central Idaho and spent a lot of time on the roads from the Salmon River up through the Florence area over to Elk City and across the Magruder Corridor road toward Darby. That was decades ago before wildfires burned so much of that part of the Nez Perce and Bitterroot National Forests. Brings back lots of memories; thanks for that…

  9. Thank you SO MUCH for this! This is one the BEST overland videos I've EVER watched. I live in North Idaho and have seen and done a lot, but nothing can match your drone/video/editing skills showing so much more than could ever be experienced on the ground!
