  1. Also, I'm pretty sure that John Carpenter's The Thing was a massive flop on release and got him cut out of the film industry at large, with neither audiences or critics liking the movie that much at the time, with a lot of people literally criticizing the paranoia filled atmosphere as insensitive and cynical (aka, just missing the entire point of the movie).

  2. Bro getting mad that Abigail spoils itself in the trailer is so dumb like how else does that movie sell itself? Its not trying to go for a Shyamalan-style twist, its a mid-tier horror movie having some fun with the premise and people need to know the premise if they want to see the movie

  3. People hate on Wendigoon because he is a christian. That's it, he is guilty of being religious and mentioning that. I've listened a bunch of his videos, he makes those super long deep dives and mentioned his religious beliefs a few times when it made sense. I never heard him supporting biggoted views even in sneaky manner, or whining about SJW like Shad did. People who hate him are absolute fucking cringe.

  4. I remember this stream. It was right after the Anime North weekend. First year in almost 2 decades that the con didn’t split between venues on two sides of a large highway. Any con where you don’t need to walk 30 mins just to get from one building to another is compact in my eyes.

Parking is a different sort of nightmare. The only reason I had reasonable parking at the hotel instead of the terror at the tcc was because I was staff. Convention centres usually don’t have parking for 40k people, it’s why most people take the ttc in.

I will say, when you’re used to giant cons, small ones feel very quaint

  5. On the whole Kevin spacey thing, I’m pretty sure he diddled some underage boys or something? So I understand why people would be upset of him trying to bounce back after the heinous shit he’s been involved in and done but this shadows guy is so bad and snarky when he talks about it. insane how he can make you not care about Kevin spacey being at a con 💀

  6. Lots of thoughts about this one but I do kinda agree with the point that the need to be profitable stifles art and creativity. It's more of a "I sure wish this wasn't the case" than a "you shouldn't care about money right now" because most people acknowledge the kind of system we live in and how important it is to make money. It is a nuanced point because I like me some crappy cult films that are entertaining in unintentional ways and all that. I kinda wish it was more viable for all sorts of artists to be able to make whatever they want without needing to adapt to what's popular or profitable to survive, you know what I mean?

In praise of shadows is taking an L with that video though. I think I saw some old essays from that channel and thought the interpretations were funny? But he's showing he's a bit of a clown here.

  7. I live in West Virginia and I get really tired of the stereotypes and the whole racist inbred nonsense. Some people can be like that, but a lot of people are really caring and accepting.

  8. Yeah the first thirty seconds sums it up neatly. I sat through two hours of that insane rant at work. It dips into like eight different subjects that should have been their own videos and all throughout I wondered if they knew they were talking like a parody of leftism.

  9. 50:00 When IPOS says "they just portray Steve Buscemi as a person"… Isn't that the point bro?! Is the fact he's wearing an overtly racist MAGA hat while simultaneously acting chill in his community not commentary itself, about how normal people can get swept up by these insane political movements?? He wanted everything to stop to call out the horrible racist, instead of draw his own conclusions. I guess admitting to this would implicate himself, but that would also imply he was ever a normal person.

  10. I followed this drama by watching videos of other creators, but letme say the RAGE Tyler has for the beginning of IPoS Video is just the best. It is so relatable, yet over the top, but still completely reasonable. Big like😂❤

  11. Also, I wanna add this… While I Don't know, or Don't know if I should believe if Kevin Spacey has actually done these alleged things, he was actually found not guilty on all charges that have not been dismissed prior. So I believe there is a discussion to be had, but I think it's important to know that there have been processes and he was found not guilty – one would have to look deeper into these cases to find 'the truth' if possible, but it's also not entirely fair to paint these allegations as if there were the definite truth. (I don't mean you, Tyler, but just in general)

  12. What’s crazy about the Appalachian statement he made is that there’s an entire mixed ethnic group from that region. Their called the Melungeon. Appalachia is one of the most culturally and genetically diverse regions in the United States. If Praise in the Shadows actually did his research he would know this. People like praise are sensitive idiots who believe that every needs to agree 100% on everything they think and say.

  13. When Eddie Griffin was talking about how he trust rednecks more than “sneaky whites he was talking about IPOS. IPOS comparing blacks and natives to rapist cannibals pisses me off and I hope he never makes a dime from content ever again.

  14. Roger Corman died like a week or two ago. I loved those 80s fantasy movies that were riding the Conan wave so damn much, his was called Deathstalker . 54:04, that reminds me of something I’d probably say in high school and hurts, I had a great English teacher who told me off for saying hillbilly and that reminded me of that, she was pretty cool.

  15. 0:22 omg THANK YOUUUU spot on 💯. If looking for additional approaches to temporarily ending the absolute torture of listening to inZANE, might I suggest gagging yourself with a pitchfork. All the benefits without the downside of losing your eyesight. But bro you gotta do what you gotta do and you have my utmost respect for keeping it real. First time viewer because I can’t get enough of this absolute $h!t$how of a dumpster fire because I literally cannot believe this is a real person.

  16. I’m reading Patrick Stewart’s memoir right now, and what you said about “making it happen” resonates. While Stewart is beloved for Picard and Professor X, the majority of his work is in theater. The way he talks about those productions really highlights how acting is an iterative and dynamic process. The second he steps off the stage he wants to do it all again. While Stewart doesn’t say much about the crew and technicians that also make it happen, his memoir shows that the point of acting is not to make a great piece of theater/film (primarily anyway), it’s about doing acting.

Not getting caught up in the product and focusing on the process is something I’m going to try to do more

Also wendigoon is a literal midwestern Sunday school teacher leave that man alone

  17. Roger Corman is the absolute goat. If you have access to the Criterion app or channel, they did an interview with him where he talked about the business side a bit and making room for artists while still making sure the money worked out. Really interesting stuff. 😁

  18. A lot of the continual problems in the American South stem from the failure of Reconstruction to remove the former slave owners from power permanently. They kept their power, they kept their money and their land and their descendants are still running everything off of their slave money that they still have.

It's basically an aristocracy that is still functioning off of slave money and violence. And no, the people who live there generally do not like the ways things are run, but there's not many options except moving away. And that has its issues as well.

It's so exhausting to have to constantly hear rank nonsense about the South and be literally insulted to my face by Yankees alllll the time. like jfc what did I do to you even?
