'IF YOU FALL, FOLLOW THE TRACKS' Herding wild horses

For the amazing giveaway, head over to my Instagram, links below!
I have been waiting to share this one for a while, and now finally itโ€™s time to show my experience of herding a group of Icelandic horses in their untamed natural habitat.

This is no touristy trail ride; itโ€™s an authentic equestrian experience led by the legendary Mister Iceland. Known for his unparalleled understanding of horses and horsemanship, Mister Iceland takes us beyond the ordinary. Youโ€™ll feel like a fundamental part of the process, deeply connected to the horses and the wild beauty of Iceland.

Our journey isnโ€™t without its challenges; the horses escaped at the start, the herd got split up, and I faced more nerves than anticipated. But whatโ€™s an adventure without a bit of risk? The rugged Icelandic terrain is both breathtaking and unforgiving, and falling off could mean being stranded.

Yet, the connection I formed with the horses, some experienced and some wild, was unlike anything Iโ€™ve experienced before. Witness their incredible ability to navigate this harsh environment and forge an unbreakable bond with the two I rode.

This video isnโ€™t for the faint of heart. Itโ€™s a story of risk, rush, and euphoria. Itโ€™s a testament to the power of horses and the beauty of nature.

Are you ready to ride with us into the wild heart of Iceland? Hit that play button, and letโ€™s embark on an unforgettable adventure together!

  2. It looks better than a roller coaster at a fun fare – which lots of people think is scary. Real life vs pretend real life!! Well done Meg and thanks to the Mr Iceland and team (and Peter, of course) for helping us understand the joy of free range horses (and riding)!!

  3. How much fun was that! I loved how the horse's shoes gleamed as they galloped along that black volcanic dirt. You and Hodur are hilarious together. And of course, the amazing cinematography by Pete! It could not get any better! Thank you for brining this to us Princess Meg.

  4. I was taught to ride during a time in South Africa when we would often find ourselves several hours away from home, galloping and swimming our horses and climbing slime dumps etc.. (and no cell phones) you learn very early on to never let go of your reins when you fall off. If you did let go, it was going to be a long walk home not to mention the danger to your horse going all the way home by itself, through barb wire fencing and crossing busy roads etc….To this day, it does not matter how or why I fall off, I never let go of my reins!

  6. I enjoyed every second of this video, but how glad I was to be in a nice warm dry house and not in an icelandic rainstorm! The landscapes and the horses are gorgeous, it must've been amazing to disconnect like that for a while and be so in touch with nature and the animals and the earth.. The dream. Well done Meg ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Now, thanks to you, Meg, if we sign up for that, we know what we are getting into. And I totally want to sign up! Looks insane, but so worth it. Glad that the comedy duo of Hadur and Meg was reunited. Your material is great! And Pete, who I think has a natural gift for cinematography, is killing it with his gorgeous footage, here and everywhere!
