Lyrics:

Hello meet the vices in me
Now you understand
I got locked in a perfect neurosymphony
My own emotional wasteland
I know you’re scared, but I am right here
Take my hand

These are the nights of the hunter
Take the scythe and cut them down
Bathing in the blood to feel the rapture
Sometimes my heart gets so wild
I want to rip it out

In neurosymphony we align
Feel the collective
Feel our vital signs
And I need you to believe the vices in me
Neurosymphony

I know you’re scared, but I am right here
Take my hand

Will you bring me off in the boulders
I love the filth with the indifference of nature
Relax my pulse, help me focus
Erotic, Graphic,
Oh that’s the spirit

  1. I posted this as a reply, but I wanted it to be its own comment too because I’d like to get some other people’s opinions including positive and opposing ones!

I love IAMX with all my heart and I like parts of this song a lot, but the first Fault Lines album didn’t quite click and this feels the same. I don’t think it’s any less skillfull… but, and it kills me to say it because I’m an artist myself and I think getting to the true identity and form of your creativity is one of the most wonderful things: I think the music has gone a bit too experimental and unconventional. I don’t know much music theory but I do listen very widely and outside of the popular conventional sphere. IAMX’s music has gone a bit chaotic, maybe? Things don’t seem logically placed in the tracks. Waily, abrasive emotional vocals seem a bit overused, or used in the wrong songs? Because the vocals like that worked in Aphrodisiac very well. I can sort of see why those vocals were put into this song too – this song is very emotional and I guess he wants to express how raw those emotions feel. Imagine if this song was a bit more ballady though, like Missile? I’m not sure if that’s quite the right word to use, but if it focussed more on the vocals, was a bit quieter and more refined on the instrumentals, this would work more for me. I keep thinking to myself ‘Maybe I am too bound to pop music ideals?’ but most of the stuff I listen to is quite obscure, from different countries, spans decades, AND I have been an IAMX super fan for about 10 years now. So I have a fairly refined taste and I feel quite attuned to Chris’s motivations and style. This music just feels like he has too many things that he wants to say at once. A very disorganised, chaotic, stressed mind, maybe? The world is like that at the moment though, so I can’t really blame him.

  2. I was 16 or 17 when I first started listening. Now I’m 35. Crazy how much time has passed. But I just wanted to say, thank you for continuing to create music & putting your heart & soul into it. It means a lot. Looking forward to August!

  3. Brilliant ! I really enjoy the soundscape and the way Chris’ voice has distortion or an effect on it and the song feels warm and comforting . It does have some melancholy but so does most of his music from my experience . Anyway I’m very thankful !! 🙂
