Waiting for MGQ Paradox part 3. Just got dames of Asstoria last month. Plenty of monster taming games now.
hearing talks of SMT5 just reminds me we still dont have it on steam :S
Who ever these people that say no other monster tamers never got covered are full of bullshit stuff like Yo-Kai Watch and Monster Hunter Stories or even SMT V got some coverage some of these big companies just need to market better and yes those people do need to put where their money is the genre needs to thrive
whenever i hear these media outlets/big YouTubers say 'pokemon clone' or 'pokemon like', I'm triggered!
I'm trying to get all my monster tamer friends into palworld, most already have it because they loved ark.
It's good someone is speaking up on this, I have taken the time to support other monster taming games, even Palworld, because I want something fresh from how stale Pokemon feels to me, sure that doesn't mean it may be stale for others, but for me I like new experiences and there needs to be more than just Pokemon without needing to be a big mega media franchise like Pokemon.
Yo-Kai Watch
Coromon
Dragon Quest Monsters
Palworld
and there is more I'm willing to sink my teeth into, I think Pokemon fans really need to put their money where their mouth is if their bothering to speak up about these other games now, cause I didn't see them speaking about it before.
"I really thought my reach was bigger than that"
There are 132 million active steam users. Not to dunk on you too hard, but your sub count isn't even 0.1% of that. The people who are subbed to you are most definitely the types who are invested in the genre, so the reach you do have is kinda limited to inside the scene. The vast majority will have never heard of you, especially so off-platform (i.e. twitter).
Honestly I have not heard of so many other monster taming game but when I found you and others talking about them I have been so interested
Temtem and Digimon Masters, both creature collection/battle mmo's
I think people either believe other Monster Tamers are just a bunch of Mid 55s on Metacritic no one has ever heard of, or simply aren't in a style of game they would even enjoy.
And understandably, yes, if you only have SO much time in a day to play video games and don't do your research, then you're not really gonna know how WRONG you are, especially when you don't know where to look.
Look no further, this is the right channel! Get started with Nexomon, Coromon, Cassette Beasts, Palworld, obviously, and many many others!
Random thought, for a spotlight section, love the idea, consider some points that each game could meet so people could kind of look at a score card of sorts to get the gist of the game too. So like monster sanctuary, pixel art-yes, turn based battle-yes, open world-no, 3v3-yes, monster's abilities used in the overworld-yes, breeding-no, skill tree-yes, evolution-yes, survival-no. Just an idea that you could flash this card at the end of the episode to summarize and maybe post on the socials to get more of a reach
I appreciate you putting this list together, but I think this kind of video will benefit from having the names written on screen. Not saying your pronunciation is weird, it's just that some of those title names are homophones so I have to guess which words exactly you're saying to google them correctly.
I have you to thank for so many games that reignited my love for monster tamers! As well as the fun I have watching your videos in the background while playing them
Someone should show this video to the hidden power podcast guys……………
I love the sheer variety of these kinds of games. I just wish I had the time for them. 😓 Love Digimon, Pokemon, Monster Rancher. Coromon, Nexomon, and Casette Beasts are also on my list.
They'll always have another excuse to not put their money where their mouth is. With sooooo many different monster taming games out there, surely they can find a second one they want to play besides Pokemon.
Funny thing you reminded me of. Ark Ascended seems to work better than the original on my PC for some reason. Even though it's a fairly old machine that I can't quite upgrade to be better.. Not counting that I need to attempt to join a couple times before it lets me stay in.
They are just capping. Truth is, the vast majority of them are just stuck with pokemon, and couldn't care less to even try to look at other monster taming games because it's not popular.
what's the game at 3:50?
I've seen some people playing Palworld, who do say it's nothing like Pokemon when asked, so I think there's hope. It's sad the moment a game of this genre hits it really big, it's immediately getting accused of being a ripoff and maybe worse, but the discussion is at the very least very visible (and that includes BOTH sides). Most monstertaming games don't even get to that point of visibility.
Damn this video is just annoying. Who the fuck cares.
Thank you! I'm a big fan of Yo-kai Watch (sadly, the newest game has no US release 😞), Nexomon (especially "Extinction"), and also Temtem (wish I had more time to play!), and I am annoyed that those games, all of them excellent, have not received more awareness and praise.
