'I want to come to Australia…' | BRICKLAYING AUSTRALIA

Hey everyone! We’re getting towards the end of the year and I am finishing off a job that has one more day left on it. I also touch base on a common question that I get on my Facebook page. Hope you enjoy, and if you do, make sure you SUBSCRIBE!

  1. Good idea on jobs like this to leave the client a bag of sand and a note on the cement brand and mix ratio used. This can be helpful down the track if / when some cracks appear. Good to include some movement joints in the walls too, though you can never be completely sure where cracks may appear over time.
Been there done that and even though you think the strip footings are a good size cracks still often happen in these long garden walls.

  2. Good advice mate but… there’s bricklayers and then there’s people who think they’re bricklayers. The last thing we need here is more unskilled labor. Keep going mate you’re doing well.Stick with the high quality work where you have to think,so much more satisfying..

  3. Recently just moved to Melbourne from the UK. What I can say is every build is timber frame, so it’s all profiles set up from the existing house rather than working it out from the footing. The bricks are bigger, the wheelbarrows are bigger and the mixer is bigger😂 it is very different to the UK, and it seems almost more robotic😅
