  1. Death's Gambit reads an awful lot like a bad custom Yu-Gi-Oh card. A lot of the cards I saw in here I was excited to think of ways to improve them, but that one? So much of it would need to change that the new version would barely look like the original.

  2. Honestly want countdown to the apocalypse to be an actual card. It has a big cost, really is just a board wipe clock and all you need to do to avoid it is have no creatures with toughness less than counter

  3. MTGCardSmith is the single most powerful card creation tool for MTG.

Unfortunately, you have to do a lot of formatting yourself. If you don't want to do that, please use something else.

    EDIT: NEVER MIND!
    I was thinking of mtgcardbuilder.
Absolutely glorious, go check it out.

  4. 5:00 Evoke is an alternative cost, not an activated ability, it does not get around additional costs such as commander tax.
7:00 Countdown to the Apocalypse gets sacrificed automatically at the beginning of the next upkeep.
7:25 For the third ability, since you pay X and remove X counters as an effect rather than a cost, could you just set X to 1000 and then fail to pay the mana and remove the counters. Depends on how to pay Dig Up. The fourth ability doesn't have a cost to reduce.
8:06 Primordial Slime God has a ton of problems, even beyond the terrible spelling, but the most important one is that slime isn't a creature type making two of its abilities immediately useless. Counters are not mana, nor are there any mana abilities with {X} in their cost anyway. Finally, since none of these seem to be activated or triggered abilities, it is unclear what the mana symbols randomly appearing before them do. for the red ability, what deals damage to the creature, who is player X and what it is they can only do. Lifelink not ending at the end of turn is very powerful and the black ability doesn't work, and not only because the only slime that can be sacrificed is this card. Even if they were activated abilities, there is no reason for X to not be zero for the green ability, and not ending at end of turn is even more powerful than it was for lifelink.
8:27 Sharazad's second ability would have multiple players play with the same library.
10:05 Quadrastrike not dealing damage during the last strike combat damage step is ridiculous.

  5. man Magic Players make horrible cards im Glad noone of you is in Charge of wotc "get ready for my 0 CMC early game bomb with late Game finisher, its legendary and has 5C in its abilities but you can pay it with phyrexian Mana🤪"

  6. The Evoke is a cost to cast the commander. You would still have to pay the commander tax if you evoke a legendary creature. Dont jump to conclusions like "this is why Wotc never printed a legendary Evoke card" when you dont even know how the rulings work. We have yuriko and Derevi anyway which are way stronger. so your point is moot (pretty much all of them actually)

  7. 1 and half minute in, I am really enjoying that you are actually putting really thought into the balance of the cards for the tiers instead of just trolling! I sincerely like thus video so far. It's going to get a like from me.

  8. The fun thing about Sliver Spy is that it would be interaction layer hell, and I think that if you play Maskwood Nexus, then Sliver Spy, then Sliver Hivelord, you’ve got a bomb that blows up your opponent’s board (bonus points for Kormus Bell) but leaves yours alive, provided you can survive the damage.

  9. This was fun. I am sorry I missed the deadline, I have some cards to submit. You might even like some of them!

Also, I would like to point out that Evoke, as an alternate cost, would still be subject to commander tax

  10. I was considering making a card called Colossal Dreadmaws. It would have been a 6/6 for {4}{G}{G} and have trample, with the additional text of 'Kicker {4}{G}{G}, create a token that is a copy of this card'

But i was too lazy to make it.
I havent watched the video yet, so idk if anyone else had the idea

  11. Ya, that is weird. First off, the wording is weird but even if it were written right, removing the legend rule doesn't change how many copies of a card can appear in a deck. THAT is a separate rule n requires a different effect n wording for said effect.

Ok, hear me out; Spiny Fish! The flavour text will be a quote from the now compleated Jace saying "It WAS just a fish. Still want to eat it?" Except use italics instead just I don't have those on my phone :P. It would be a mana cost of {P/U} n it would now be an Artifact Creature – Phyrexian Fish n still be a 0/1 that has the ability "Whenever one or more blocking creatures deals combat damage to Spiny Fish, destroy those creatures at the end of combat." If this was in March of the Machine, it would slot well into ninjutsu decks in standard n could even bleed into infect decks in older formats since it is a free cast n pushes out more buff targets but the question is, would adding Infect to the card be too much, I think so. But then it means maybe it would be better for the Rotpriest decks instead n just add a Tainted Strike reprint in MotM as a way to give it +1/+0 n infect at instant speed for {B} n it would trigger the Rotpriest cuz it targets. But with how older infect decks r built it seems unlikely to be added to those lists without having infect itself. Maybe a pay mana activated ability to give it Infect until end of turn.

Friends are Advantages doesn't go infinite with Blisterpod + Phyrexian Altar. Altar would sac the Blisterpod for {G} n make a Scion token. Then to use the ability of FaA we need to pay {1} n sac the token so that we can pay the {G} we still have floating to recast Blisterpod. If Blisterpod cost {1} instead of {G} then this would go infinite with Ashnod's Altar but still not still not Phyrexian Altar. U would need Ashnod's Altar, I believe the card is called Moonvessel Myr who costs {1} n u add {1} when it dies, n then add Sai, Master Thopterist cuz then when u cast the Myr u get a thopter, sac the Myr for {2}, then pay {1} n sac the thopter to use the ability so u can pay the other {1} to recast the Myr n continue the loop. N that is 4 cards across 3 colours so maybe EDH viable but not broken

  12. Almost all these decisions are laughable and make no sense. But that Death's Gambit card… You know, there were aspects of the card I liked, but also aspects that would never work in Paper Magic as well as effects that made no sense whatsoever. I think it could work as an Alchemy card provided some of that text was reworked, or normally if we take out that part about casting it from the third from the top of your deck…

The biggest thing I liked about it was "If you draw this card, you lose the game" as that places a very interesting restriction, that either it's in your opening hand or you play it from the graveyard or library, and it's flavorful that you can pay the full cost in life, even if it's all 5 colors which isn't very flavorful.

I would completely change what the beneficial effects are though, because winning the game by being in the opening hand or making others lose the game if someone else also has it in their opening hand is not only absolutely broken, but just not a fun mechanic that on top of that can't be interacted with.

Still, of all the cards on this list, this one strikes me as most interesting in terms of potential. It 100% needs to be reworked because it's absolutely broken but the effect is very interesting.

Also, I think it's hilarious that the flavor text on Seagull Storm says " 'shouldn't this card be red?' – some idiot" and Noah immediately complains the card should be Red… That's very meta

  13. You know, I want to read all the words on a card, and it's fun to use a couple in decks too.

Now when almost every card in a deck is like that.. I can't help but wonder what madness it is that grasps people who subject others to reading the same novel each turn, EVERY TURN, like some demented choose-your-own-adventure book that forces you to do protracted chaos math every time you choose wrong.

  14. I'm pretty sure the middle line on Demios was just meant to communicate that, even if there are multiple copies of Demios in play, only one of them is your commander.
