  1. It's better for the Sacred 3 to be forgotten. Let's just erase it from memory. It's so bad in every single aspect. Also, the male characters look like they were bathed in steroids when they were children.

  2. Man I am ps3 era fanboy so I have some recommendations: Genji Days of the Blade, Drakensang 3, Afro Samurai, MiniNinjas, Enslaved Odyssey to the west, whole f"cking Dynasty warriors series and it's spinoffs,Blades of time, alolipop Chainsaw, Way of the samurai 4 magicka, blood knights, dragon's crown, X-blades. There are many GEMS in there.

  4. Seven looks pretty promising! might play it at some point.

    Suggestions for this series:
    – Drakan: Order of the Flame (cool game in which you can ride a dragon)
    – Drakan: The Ancients' Gates
    – Darkstone
    – Evil Islands
    – Heretic 2 (the only entry in the series in 3rd person)
    – Wizardry 8

  5. Great episode dude. Really glad you enjoyed Dungeon Lords. I played the demo and then at first release and it was reeeeaally janky. You'd be lucky to finish it just because of the bugs.

Anyway, another suggestion although I'm not sure if it makes the criteria is Kenshi. If you're not familiar, definitely check it out

  6. DUUUUUUUUUDE, I wanted to play a game which I've played a long time ago but completely forgot the title of. That was Dungeon Lords! Thank you for bringing the game up,man! I'll be surely giving it a new try! FYI, it wasn'T all THAT important, BUT I've been looking for this game on and off for about 1,5 YEARS, so THANK YOU!

  7. Nice, Dungeon Lords needed some more coverage. I already had a good impresison, but there are almost no good thoughts on it on youtube. It somehow reminded me of Bloodlust: Shadowhunter and Silverfall. Kingdoms of Amalur as well, but that one is hardly obscure. Haven't actually played any of them though, so just superficial impressions on my part.

Other than that, in case you want to include more tactics-focussed games, there is also Aarklash: Legacy, which was quite fun for what it is. Essentially a team-based tactics game with only a few skills per character and very little itemization and story. Design-wise it was clear that the developers expected the players to build their team to create synergy between these skills. The game gives enough lee-way in terms of character choices and skill development to make things interesting. And it's simple enough that you can see and appreciate the depth. However, it's so limited as a game that even the 20 hours or so it lasted, was already a bit too much for me.

Edit: Prelude to Darkness is something that has occasionally been mentioned on the rpgcodex as being quite good. Just type it into google. I'm not sure if it ever even had a commercial release.

Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition (also Kult: Heretic Kingdoms) is also a decent ARPG and you won't need much time to play through that one. Interesting character system and decent story in a unique setting, but as far as I remember the game simply doesn't take its time enough to ever do much worldbuilding.

And Inquisitor, which is a very long ARPG with focus on the story and way too many long dungeons. Gameplay is kind of reminiscent of Diablo 1. There is no party, but similar as the old Fallouts you can pick up a few very basic companions. Difficulty is relatively high and dialogue is a bit formulaic, but the writing fits the apocalyptic christian medieval setting and there is a good amount of interconnection. It's kind of open world like BG2 with fixed maps to visit, but the game more or less wants you to do everything. Great art and music and good itemization. You can choose between Paladin, Priest and Thief for your protagonist.

  8. A bit surprised seeing Sacred 3 here after previous video but good selection nonetheless.

Some more suggestions for future vidoes:
Knights of the Temple, Viking: Battle for Asgard, Of Orcs and Men, Mars: War Logs, Silverfall, Avencast: Rise of the Mage, Blade of Darkness, Necropolis

Hellgate: London, Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition, How to Survive 1+2, Gauntlet: Slayer Edition, Xanadu Next, Ember, DeathSpank, The Bard's Tale (2004)
Dawn of Magic, Space Siege, Space Hack, Restricted Area, Greed: Black Border and Krater: Shadows over Solside.

  10. I don't see immovable camera in slashers/character action games/spectacle fighters/whatever you call the DMC clones an dthose heavily inspired by it.

Maybe because my first contact was with DMC, where static camera angles were common (and now get annoyed when I have to wriggle the camera into a decent enough position in DMC5)

  11. Game of Thrones RPG is total gem. Story is brilliant, especially the closer to the end is. Gameplay also ain't bad, when you get more skills the fight is ok, and the game got good flow where there ain't other stuff that distract you from maine plot. Everyone who likes good story should check it.

  13. 5:01 I know it's probably not the case, but sometimes I feel like I'm the only person in existence who actually enjoyed the combat gameplay in the first Witcher game, once I started getting into the groove of it and levelled up some of my abilities, especially Igni. I disliked it at first, but as I carried on, I really started picking up what it was putting down. Like not just tolerating it, but having fun with it.
