It is the same with games/movies in streaming platforms, when these loose the licence…. You are left with NOTING for your money.
Serif Tools are Godsend as perfect alternative for Adobe tools. Really, for price less then 100€ (on discount for V2 right now), I bought myself Universal license for all their apps, and well, it is worth investment.
As somebody who used their V1 tools also in conjunction with Adobe in one of previous jobs, because compatibility reasons with our large scale printer (something, something formatting issues, minor things which annoyed me a lot) for which we had to shill out 5 yearly licenses for 20 PC's (yup, Creative Cloud for Teams on multiple locations and multiple PC's) for exorbitant prices (via our retailers as Adobe didn't sell to Croatia back then directly, don't know about current situation, and yeah, margins for one year license was too damn high) I can say – Affinity Serif tools are way worth it. Heck, even found reseller on eBay from Serbia and bought myself all licenses bit cheaper and now have both V1 and V2 licenses to use. For last 3.5 years V1.x versions served me well, V2 – next few years without paying monthly and using apps with regular updates incoming.
Why doesn't Adobe just make their own PANTONE company and kick them out of the market.

I've completely stopped using Adobe products and moved to using PhotoGimp, Darktable, and Davinci Resolve instead of Photoshop, Lightroom, and Premiere Pro. What's funny is not only are they free, they're light years more stable than any Adobe product I've used.
