  1. "You're hitting a woman? F**k you dude." No, F**k you. You don't get to object to the bad parts of chivalry and claim the benefits. Rhaena hit him first, because she felt entitled to something based on inheritance rather than merit. Aemond had a perfect right to hit her back in self-defense.

  2. In books, criston killed laenor's lover at some other occasion. Its just HOTD trying to put different incidents all happening at one occasion..
This Show is also on the same track as GOT, going off track from books on many occasions.

  3. Dragons are not property or slaves…Vhaegar wasn’t her daughter’s to claim. Vhaegar was whoever’s who had the courage to claim her and whoever Vhaegar also allowed.

Aemond was correct…and dragon’s are not simple animals to be ordered around, remember that.

  4. George rr martin complimented Considine on his role of Viserys, he said he liked his portrayal better as he accomplished his role better than the character in the book.

You know how awesome you need to be to get something like that? Yeah, very awesome.

  5. I think you're wrong about Daemon. All he has ever wanted is for Viserys to trust him and let him stand by his side, as a brother should, to protect him when everyone else around him wants to use him. I also truly believe that (in the show at least, book Daemon and Rhaenyra are a little different) Daemon genuinely loves Rhae. When he asked Viserys to give her to him, he meant it. He held back in the brothel because the idea was to ruin her reputation, but what actually happened is he realised he wanted her more than he'd ever wanted someone. That wasn't part of his plan. He was happy with Laena and he loved her too, but even she knows that in truth his love for Rhaenyra is stronger than anything else. Sure when she becomes Queen Daemon gets power by default because he becomes her Prince Consort, but she also trusts him and relies on him in a way Viserys never did. She sees him as an equal and that's all he has ever wanted.

  6. i'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet but at 38:37 when daemon chuckled during the funeral, a few moments before that you can see vaemond giving jace & luke the dirty look (probably due to the bastard rumors) which seemed to make the boys look uncomfortable, rhaenyra notices and gives daemon a look to which daemon then chuckles to divert the attention to him and away from the kids

i'm not sure if that's what actually went on in that scene, but if it is i find that really sweet of daemon to do

  7. Alicent has become another Cersei.
She started out in a loveless marriage which was arrangement more for duty and political reasons.
Her father was a corrupt hand of the king who did more manipulating than simply serving the king.
Her children are similar. One son is a tyrant. One son is apathetic. And her daughter is useless in terms of furthering the family name.
And further similarities in future episodes.

  8. So… Being a bastard technically just means that you do not inherit a name, and your line of succession is cut from you. It means that you do not have the right to inherit your family's name, and all that goes along with it. But as per the marriage agreement that the princess has, and as per the pronouncement by the king, the princess will inherit the throne, and her children will inherit her name and the throne… It means that technically she cannot have children that are bastards. Regardless of who the Father is, the children still will inherit name and title. That means that no, they can't be bastards. 🤷

  9. Finally a reactor that isn’t smitten with Rhaenyra. She was short sighted, reckless and self indulgent. She doomed her kids by having them, and further by not securing a safe future for them when she had the chance.

  10. Vhagar sleeping on the beach reminds me of my Beagle being asleep. The look on her face, the sleeping position, and making noises with her throat.

Must keep in mind Heleana Targaryen’s cryptic and prophetic statements.

  11. The double standard does make sense though. A royal man can never get pregnant so it's more trouble trying to keep all those second sons away from brothels then it is if they have a bunch of bastards. A pricness on the other hand might get stuck with some male prostitutes child in her belly for 9 months. Thats pretty hard to deny, especially when people are supposed to be virgins until they're married. A guy can easily lie about that when his wedding day comes but a princess with commoner children can't exactly claim maidenhood.
And thats a big threat to the status of royal families. if a generation of the family turns out to be the sons of a common man then they inheret his name and titles, not their mothers. That means said royal family goes extinct in one generation.

So yes you can look at it in a discriminatory way that men get to be hedonists because they can hide it later on, but it really also means that women are more sacred. I feel liek that is something people overlook in all these debates about what women and men did differently in the past. Yes women weren't soldiers but that is because each individual man is not as important for creating the next generation as each individual woman is. When you go to war and thousands of men die, the men who return just need to plant more seeds in order to grow your population, but if a bunch of women go and die then thats a permanent loss is population. Thus maidenhood and the life of women in general is more sacred in these times. Thats what men fight for to protect.

  12. He never did actually break his vows as a white cloak. He has the same vows in a sense as the Night's Watch.
"I shall hold no lands, take no title, take no wife, and bare no children." The vows never say that he cannot have sex with a woman.
