Today’s video follows on from my last about talking to your bird! It discusses how to encourage your bird to talk back!
Many types of parrots (and other birds) are capable of repeating words. Some can even understand basic meaning. Encouraging our parrots to say words and talk can be fun, but also rewarding for them too!
I give some easy tips in this video to help encourage this kind of parrot chatting!

My parakeet Willie speaks about 50 words and phrases. He loved to watch Disco the Parakeet on YouTube and with reinforcement and play he learned quickly. You are so correct…if he gets over excited he will talk too much and we have to stop and calm down. This morning he flew to my shoulder and told me "I love you sweety pie, give me a big kiss! " so darn cute and funny 😗😂
My favorites are the sleepy time mumbling ramblings that are super quiet.
Do chip and fish Do a head twitch when they hear something they like? That's how I got Rexy talking as I noticed he liked what he was hearing and kept going at that tone.
Then he started picking up random things 😂
Eli my conure can already talk but he barely ever does it when i am close to him. i think he is still shy to talk. He can already do recalls tho 😀

I have read that a cockatiel below 1 year can't learn to speak or whistle is it true ? Cause my 6 month is not talking after training too ?
