I don't really see the point of blowing up both barrels with Ethan, a headshot from the Wolfsbane is really all you need and since its the first level you can keep restarting until you get the shot down. The first barrel is better used for the 3 Lycans that trigger when you're near the archer.
With Heisenburg, you should use the time the wolf is stunned by the first flash grenade to charge Magnetic field and then use the charged hammer, it does far more damage that way.
