  1. Honestly it would be nice if Ryan could stop insisting that the only alternative to SLS and Orion is a crewed Starship launching to and directly returning from the moon. Dragon exists you know. Obviously crewed Starship rated for crewed launch and re-entry won't be ready earlier than SLS, everyone with a brain knows that. But that is blatantly NOT the alternative if NASA wants to replace Orion and SLS. Instead, the crew would launch and come down on a crew dragon, dock to a refueled crew Starship that goes from LEO to LLO and back, while in LLO they dock to an already present HLS Starship for between LLO and the lunar surface. You don't need aerobraking or heatshields on Starship for this, just more refueling flights. Yes Starship has enough delta-V when fully refueled in LEO to do either of these individual legs. No atmospheric entry required. This is a fact.

Given that both repeated orbital refueling and life support for Starship are already on the critical path for Artemis, ANY date where HLS is ready is a date where SpaceX and NASA can replace SLS and Orion with Dragon and an additional LEO-LLO-LEO "shuttle" Starship that very day if they want to (and have launched and refueled both Starships in advance).

Someone should bring this to Ryan's attention in a superchat or smt, because it's frankly getting annoying. Crewed Starship is NOT needed to replace SLS if HLS Starship is part of the architecture. Full stop, end of discussion.

  2. Omg the SpaceX headquarter drive have me so much nostalgia ✨️I haven't been back in years, and yeah that's all SpaceX property that they drove past. They have facilities on like 2 blocks lol

  3. Mooooo! Another fascinating episode.
Been watching rocket launches since Vanguard and Explorer, when US News networks showed almost all launch attempts, and more than a couple launches per years was an amazing concept!

    BERD!

  4. New Glenn 😂 they haven't landed it yet, and even if they do I can't see BO being competitive. They dont have the versatility of platforms. Between f9, FH, and now starship. Its meant to be a competitor for FH, and even FH barely launches due to no use case scenarios. They won't be able to price match SpaceX, and will probably just get mothballed. Jeff will have to stick to carnival rides on new shepard.
