fun fact: if you skip the into chapter 4 via glitch in the gamecube version, when you get to doopliss mario, the yoshi will always be green. since you didn't ever get the egg from hoggle, the game never starts the yoshi timer

Actually you can Do it without problem. Save before the Battle the Timer Starts When your Dialog Box Appears with your partner AFTER the battle the timer begins and exactly works do not finish closing the dialogue box with Koops or any partner until it is exact second minute. Then when he walks towards you it will be the one you want.

I was really hoping this would be one of the many things they fixed. It's such an annoying & cryptic process.
Their hair style matters to me as well, not just their colours. I like green, red, and black yoshi. Blue is a cool colour, but I don't like his pink hair and pants. White has a weird hairstyle. Pink and orange are…pink and orange…
But I do not have the urge to reset my progress just to change my Yoshi color… 😢 Guess I’ll have to hang with a Pink Yoshi until Nintendo adds a feature where you can freely change his color…
