Mars is a fool's errand I believe. It's too inhospitable to be of use for people with its low gravity, lack of resources, and negligible magnetic field (higher radiation on the surface). it's also too close to Earth to be a logical choice for resource mining. We could and should just travel to the nearest Earth like planet, which would be far easier to adapt to a life like we have here.

For Mars, mechs and robots will need to establish the first life sustaining infastructure, bio domes, moxie 02 filling and solar with nuculear amp power vessels to install, this is essential, as its not a range of the Moon, so far not even a landing structure is deployed on Mars, all these are vidal, before any human/living cargo arrive.
