#Porsche #959 #911

From the snowy banks of Sweden to the scorching blacktops of circuits around the globe, in the mid 1980’s Porsche was on top, and couldn’t fail.

  2. @the.squidd My mechanic is probably the US East coast’s most well known 959 specialist (obviously Canepa is the most well known in the US).
… yet even HE says the 959 looks weird!

  3. I feel like a 928 would actually go over pretty well today. Think about it. Porsche is just as well known today for their SUVs as the 911 at this point and it has only increased their presence. I think there's probably room for a V8 grand tourer with a real back seat that handles and drives like a Porsche should. Doctors and lawyers would eat it up.

  4. Just amazing, unbelievable story and insight and what’s arguably Porsches best. I love Porsches and when you have the time I’d love to watch and hear you cover the story of the GT line at Porsche from birth to current day

  5. The 1980s-era 959 Porsche is gorgeous. It's priceless engineering. . The Porsche 911 from its beginning in 1963 through the decades ending in 1998 was a masterpiece in evolution engineering. .. Sure the chassis morphed some, yet the green-house (roof, glass, doors) stayed the same and is largely interchangeable. .. Re; 1998 911 Carrera S (993) Original owner. . You can take my 993 from my cold dead hands!
P.S. Have a look at what Canapa Motorsports does with 959s. .. Bruce Canapa was more than instrumental in EPA certifying the 959 into the States. . Cheers, M/S

  6. In period no F40 reached 200mph. 199mph was the highest speed reached by the factory, and world motoring magazines. Ferrari banned any motoring journalist timing it's new F50 car, Ferrari were afraid it would be discovered to be slower than the F40 in every way. The 959 Sport had more power and could pass 200mph with ease, as could the Ferrari F40 LM and F40 Competizione. A 959 Sport does not have an oil filler cap on its rear left fender. People think F50's are better, they are just getting confused. They made less F50's so it must be higher valued. Making less cars does not make a car a better car. They made more F40's they are twice as good as an F50 car.

  7. I just watched the LFA video yesterday and while watching it I was wracking my brain trying to remember what the three digit number to this Porsche was. I know you think they're goofy and I did too when I first saw one but man, something about that car just grew on me. Great video.
