Alice & Martin are husband & wife owner operators based out of Northern California running a 2009 Kenworth W900 with over 1.1 million miles and counting.

After managing a Linehaul fleet at FedEx Ground for 5 years and losing that job they returned to their trucking roots in 2021 as team drivers leased with Ceva and in 2022 choose to reactivate their own authority focusing on running the spot market hauling flatbed freight.

This channel has been created to share the how to’s, successes and yes, failures of owning and operating your own trucking company. This is real life trucking, nothing is withheld or edited out to make it look glamorous or pretty.

  1. For the most part, I really like the Les Schwab stores. They almost always welcome you into the store and then get you in and out as quickly as possible. They are very professional and polite whenever I have gone to any of thier stores and I have probably been to about 8 different ones in and around the Portland/Hillsboro/Beaverton and Longview, WA locations.

  2. You know the old saying, look 👀 after your equipment and it will look after you. I just hate the thought of beaten on a truck. You have got a real nice working W 900 and it would be a shame to beat on it. I used to pick up at a lot of mills and loved the smell. When I drove van I used to pick up at fish processing plants, the aroma was a tad different especially in herring season. My first time seeing a mountain full of herring guts steaming in the sun shine kind of turned my colour green. Boy did it stink. So give me a pick up at a lumber mill anytime. Ya know it’s to bad Kenworth is pulling that shit, over charging. If they got 20 of those tanks in stock maybe some one over ordered and they are trying to charge the customer for there mistake or there just greedy. So much of that is going on right now. Good to see you looking after your truck Martin, Fancy loves the attention. Stay safe and have a great day.

  4. Fantastic vlog as always!! Thank you very much 👌I’m so pleased you got your tire sorted easily enough 👌 That’s an absolute joke regarding the price of the header tank!!!! Of course they’ll come back and say that it’s not under warranty!! They don’t make owning a truck easy do they?!! 😡 You are a true professional driver Martin. I have only ever been a company driver but have always looked after & driven a truck as if it were my own. Many company drivers do that attitude you spoke of though. It’s a case of “it’s not my truck, why should I care?!!” 😡 Hope Alice & the kids are all really well 🙏 Take care all of you ❤️🙏

  5. I would have removed the buzzer. Cause i can't stand noises like that. But i can sleep with the music on or the tv. Jessie she likes listening to music when she sleep's. I always carry 1-2 spare tires. And i have a air line hose that i can connect to the truck's airline system and use the air wrench to change bolt's and the air jack to jack up the truck or the trailer to change tire's. And i have a big jug of water that i use to wash my hands after i work on the truck. I had to help the crane operator cause he did not like operation the crane since he can't see what he is doing cause he can't see the load. And i had it all taking care of cause they was happy when i appeared and had the remote and was moving product's quit and safe. And we was done within minute's. And i had him load up stuff and take the company truck back and i drove the crane back the crane can reach up to 5 stories. I deliver loads to lumber yard's all the time that loads them on train's. I love the AC and it work's excellent in the sleeper since it's a RV style heater and air condition. the cab has central heat and air. That's good the harness is still working excellent for u. Hey Alice i bet u miss driving now. Jessie think's that one day Alice will be on the road and Martin will be home with the kid's.

  6. Hey Martin! Great video again and as always for those who don't know you give good advice. Alot of drivers really don't understand how pulling them hills will affect their engine. They want to be the first to the top and the first to the shop. You be safe and God Bless. OH YEAH DID YOU LOSE YOUR HAT? 😏

  7. I came from the automotive industry, I know I can relate man.

It’s not just this one, it’s across the board, they unfortunately believe they can gouge just as hard and deep for profit and blame it on the petroleum rise.

Those products were sitting on the shelf long before any petroleum issues and somehow became 3-4 times more valuable due to their shelf life… same dang thing with asphalt shingles, guess they think we are far to gullible.

  8. Hi Marty…another great video. You can't buy a break this week. It looks like even the dogs are peeing on Fancy :>) I have soo much respect for guys who can tell if they are beating up their equipment. So many drivers are clueless (or don't care because they don't own the truck). You have uncommon, common sense . However , you have to fix the coolant level sensor, the constant dinging is turning my brain to mush :>)

  9. When I was working with the drill rig I watch the driller just smoke the rear end in only 30 miles. It was a three axle truck weighing it over 110,000 pounds with a blown and turbo charged V8 Detroit. Yep gotta watch the temps

  10. Hay you guys, just wondering… does your trailer have rub rails? Cos if it does y'all need to tie those straps INSIDE the rails…
    🤪🤪

    (Had to do it)

But yeah, agree Martin, best smell in the world is a lumber mill… almost on par with the smell of fresh mown grass in spring, and that ozone-y smell of summer rain hitting hot asphalt…

  12. Hi. How are All U doing!? Liked the Video and Scenery! Sorry bout Tire issue and Glad Found Cheap Tire to Keep on Trucking! Martin that was Good Advice bout Running Truck Slow up Grades when Hot! Not Matter if Loaded or Not it's to Help Maintain Equipment!! Most Persons Should Go Slower Speeds up Grades when Hot in Passenger Vehicles Too cos They Can Over Heat whether Climbing Grades or on Flats!! More Speed, More Engine Heat Occurs even in All Out Race Cars!! I Know Had Few! Heat Not Good for Anything!!! In Videos I See Many Drivers Hit Tires See if Flat but Not Check with Tire Pressure Gauge Sometimes!! Why Not!? I Would Check with Gauge Make Sure Few Tires at Right Pressure Cos Hitting Tire just Know it's Not FLAT!! Heat expands Tire Pressure and Cold Weather Makes Pressure Less when Cold so Pressures Not Stay same All Year! I Know, been Checking Tires since I was 16!! When Take Cdl Permit Test asks if Tires get Hot can Cos to Catch Fire or even Blow Out! If Just Hit Tires All Time Have No idea How Much Pressure has Built up like if 100 f outside and Road Temps 125f!! Air Pressure can Build in a Hurry and especially if have Debris in Tires as Was in Ur Trailer Tire! Too Much Heat can cos Tires to Blister!! Get Ur Sensor for Fancy and Enjoy Few Days Off! Glad New Harness is Functioning properly for Now! Take Care Amigo Keep Out of Ditches 😇💪😎
