As someone who's mind is driven by facts(yey tism) I'm never not gonna feel weird when ppl try to explain to me safe & sound and ESPECIALLY Eyes Open when they don't know they're from the Hunger Games soundtrack and written from Katniss's pov. Because… no, no fam. That's not what it is. You're stretching because you have 0 context. It's way less metaphorical than it seems to you, it's actually a life or death situation 🙂
    Like, I know people have different interpretations, but THAT is what the song is about originally, period. Not about a relationship. It's a self talk of someone in a situation where she's literally in an arena with other between 23 and 5 people who are out for her blood. And it's so freaking good.

  10. Lover was such an odd spot in terms of her albums and it’s a shame it never got a true moment to be appreciated fully. Me! being the song that it is certainly left people feeling conflicted. And You Need to Calm Down had people questioning whether or not Taylor was being performative. All of that definitely overshadowed a lot of Lover’s success and then the pandemic was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I’m glad that in some way Lover is getting the recognition that it deserves.

  26. Those two The Hunger Games songs are superior to the OG songs! Also, the fact that she was able to get The Civil War vocalists back, separately due to their divorce, is amazing!
