How I used a DUGTRIO team to DOMINATE legendaries

In this video, I try out a Dugtrio team that I built for the Series 13 VGC format, which allows for unlimited legendary/restricted Pokemon! Dugtrio sees very little usage in competitive VGC but it has a couple of niches thanks to its ability & base speed. Did you know that with a Choice Scarf, Dugtrio can even outspeed Regieleki? This is also the first time that I’m posting an edited video on the channel, I’d really appreciate any feedback!

  1. It's super disorienting to not know which moves the opponent uses (for example, Game 1 eternatus presumably used cosmic power on turn 2?? It's difficult to keep track of the board state), including that would be nice even if it means a slightly longer video!

  2. I love the new editing my only issue to pass along was the fact that in team preview I couldn’t see the opponents first Pokémon as you’re image circle was blocking them! Made for some confusion on Pokémon choices 😂! Overall though we’ll done 🎉

  3. Stats and additional info pop-ups are revolutionary. Makes this channel like a competitive Pokemon university now, really helps in the learning process. The only thing I'd warn against is trying to cut down actual gameplay footage. I think most of us watch you for the full context of battles, not just highlights. There are other channels for fluff battle vids. We're here because you're the real deal.

EDIT: Sorry, I should add, I DON'T think this video came across as a highlights video. There were some cuts that made me worry you might experiment down that path in the future, but for the most part, it didn't come across that way.

  4. Love the editing, but not so much the skips. I'd like to know Aaron's thought process when selecting Pokemon to bring in, what moves he used, and what moves the opponent used during a turn. I think you're just trying to reduce dead space and rambling commentary, but every action or thought process should not be removed from the video.

  5. At first when you mentioned editing i was worried it might have "ruined" the calm and informative vibes of your videos but fortunately i was wrong
This style of editing really fits you and i really liked the funny moment with the Dugtrio fadeaway, simple and effective

  6. I was skeptical about the idea of edited VGC gameplay, but this was very impressive to me. A lot of value added from editing showing board state, calcs, and key stats, and not too much interruption of the flow of the match. I definitely want to see all the move selections, but I don’t have anything else negative to say. This video took me from uninterested in this form of content to excited about it.

  7. For things I really like about this style of video, the pop-ups for things like like calcs, base stats, and board states next to the face cam really add a lot in my opinion, helps to follow along and give a bit more perspective/context to some of the things that are said. For things that could be improved, there's a few points where there are cuts at points where moves are selected or damage is taken, and that can sometimes make it a bit difficult to follow.

Keep up the great content, and hope this new style of video works well for you!

  8. I really loved the pop ins of notable stat changes and speed tiers etc. That makes it much easier to follow. I love watching Pokemon battles but I don't do them much myself so I don't know a lot of extra info like speed tiers or what to really expect damage wise so that is a huge help. I do kinda miss seeing the trainer cards in the beginning though. Speaking of, I see that new fit you got on, I didn't expect that to change lol

  9. Personally don't like the new "layout". The bubble for your camera is blocking some of the info on the screen! Other than that, there were a few too many cuts, as others have already said. Let us see you thinking through your move selection and actually selecting them. Plus there were times when it cut off the animation for some of the attacks! I didn't know who was targeted until I saw the lifebars afterwards. I would suggest just cutting off all the dead time (such as when you're waiting for your opponent to selected an attack or loading screens when you're not talking). Loved the calcs and the game state pop ups though. That was a great addition

  10. I would love to see move descriptions in the beginning of the video when you're explaining the sets, so I don't have to tab out to look them up. Also, curious as to why you used bulldoze instead of rock tomb? Love the vids as always, your new editor did great! ^^
