In this video we are exposed to some of the high-elevation species that occur on the Volcanoes around Mexico City, in forests dominated by Pine (Pinus sp.) and Fir (Abies). We see bizarre and extremely armed members of the carrot family. We see hummingbird pollinated members of the genus Senecio. We see showy parasites (Castilleja) and not-so-showy parasites (Arceuthobium). We see the habitat of the psychoactive mushroom Psilocybe aztecorum (in the duff and decaying organic material beneath the shrub Senecio cinerarioides). Most importantly, we see some grandiose moneyshotz (TM) of the volcano that serves as the source of the uplift and elevation that has created this unique habitat – an “island” of high elevation in a sea of lowlands.
Your contributions support this content. It sounds clichéd, but it’s true. Whether it’s travel expenses, vehicle repair, or medical costs for urushiol poisoning (or rockfalls, beestings, hand slices, toxic sap, etc), your financial support allows this content to continue so the beauty of Earth’s flora can be made accessible to the rest of us in the degenerate public. At a time when so much is disappearing beneath the human footprint, CPBBD is willing to do whatever it takes to document these plant species and the ecological communities they are a part of before they’re gone for good.

If a guy fucks himself, is that an example of protandry?
Every time I watch another episode I go fuck my self. Yet here I am. Infinitely fascinating and appreciated.

More of the often unknown beauty of Mexico.
Always a pleasure, Mr Crime. I'll leave a comment and a like for the YT algorithm, but I've really got nothing to say.
I really like the new drone shots you have been adding. I think they help show more of the local context at once. Thank you for what you do on this channel.
I wanna see a break down of all the websites and domain names this guy is responsible for burping into existence.
You got those assholes in the background distracting me from learning about all these Gaga sp, Pteridaceae, and that dwarf parasite eating up the grasses.
I like when your angry, feels nice not being the only angry person out here
The carrot reminds me a little of the Sydney flannel flower Actinotus helianthi, another carrot but looks like a daisy
Pigpen had the flies, not Linus, ya pr***. 🙂
💚
Thanks for continuing to make awesome videos man! I love to learn about this stuff from you.
Hey Tony! The production on your videos lately are superior! Thanks for the musical transitions and drone shots! Cool music !
That Cirsium ehrenbergia looked like it was going to yell "Feed me!" – Audrey II's spiky punk cousin?
Some of these strangely reminiscent of Australian flora
Would love some eastern deciduous ecology and I think a lot of people would appreciate it. Abandoned farmland, alkaline vs acidic forests, properly structured vs disturbed forests, etc
Love the authenticity 💨

A lot of that foliage looks similar to Central AZ but far greener from being wet.
Eryngium is such an interesting genus. My favorite is E. venusta- but it is absolutely vicious
It was “Pigpen” from the peanuts not Linus Ik not really what I should be criticizing here but fyi lol love the other shit though
