  1. I'm in Texas and can relate to your comment about green algae/slime blooms in the hot summer peaks. I made a few bags out of burlap and fill with ground horticultural cornmeal you get at the feedstore. I put about 10-15 lbs into each bag then tie off with some twine so I can anchor to the banks. Throw them as far as you can into the pond (they will sink) and in a week or two that algae with be gone. In the fall I’ll pull out the bags to be used next year. It’s all organic, safe to use, and inexpensive.

  2. "Notice my pond is about 2 or 2.1 acres"
I notice your tractor next to the pond, which gives scale, and I assure you that pond is less than one acre in that it's about 200 feet long and far less than 200 wide. 1 Grass carp could clean that pond. If you put 3 grass carp in, and one died, the remaining two would keep that puddle clean.

  3. This is an awesome video. We purchased a small piece of property that has the beginning stages of a pond. Unfortunately the previous owner used it to dump pallets, trash, etc and need to cleanup before we can do anything else.

  4. I have a small 1/2 acre pond. Will the grass carpe and pond dye help rid the lillies or do I need an aquatic herbicide? Trying to not use herbicide to remove the lillies.
