Last week I finally got around to start my first playthrough of God of War and I’m already enjoying it immensely. This game is so breathtakingly beautiful and I’m excited to join Kratos and Atreus on their journey ahead!
In this part we meet the Witch of the Woods and encounter Jörmungandr/the World Serpent. We also learn that “the Stranger” was actually Baldur, the son of Odin.
Some timestamps:
00:00 Intro
00:28 Continuing the journey
12:13 Emotions
27:37 Attempting to find a bird for five minutes straight
37:51 Meeting the Witch of the Woods
59:25 Encountering the World Serpent
Thanks for watching!

The in-game sound was REALLY loud this time for some reason, even though I turned it down before I started recording. I'll make sure to double-check that everything sounds alright next time!
I was waiting for you to get to this point. Meeting the Witch of the Woods and seeing the beautiful area she lives in and then meeting the World Serpent. I can't get enough of rewatching these scenes with new people playing it and see them experience these moments for the first time 🙂
Girl, theres a whole montage of Kratos saying boy lol
The game will give you some context on the main character’s past so you’re not going to finish this game without learning about him. But a recap of god of war 1-3 would help.
I think having a blind reaction to this game would make better content, without knowing about the previous games. If you do wanna learn about it anyway, maybe make a reaction vid about it? You do get the basic details of his backstory through this game, which I look forward to your reaction!
I don't know if you actually figure this out later in the episode, but you can actually sprint by holding the left analog stick, you're doing great btw, and yes, you can totally do this on a higher difficulty lol
Hi! I know you've asked early in the video if you should read up on Kratos' backstory. I'm someone who played all the God of War games way back in the good ol' PS2, PS3 days (I did play the two PSP side games when they were released as a collection on the PS3). There's a great video here on YouTube that explains Kratos' background and the key moments from each game, and it doesn't spoil God of War 2018. I would recommend that video (and it'd be cool to see you reacting to it), only because there are moments later on in this game that will touch the previous games. You don't need to know the moments, but it will help (like the moment early in this video when Kratos says "The Fates? Nothing good comes from them,' and there's a reason why from GoW 2). The game will provide some answers, but it doesn't go fully in depth. Hope that helps.
1:00:58………..Eitr Imbued……..NOW THE AXE IT IS POISONED WITH '''EITR''' IN THE ONLY POISON CAPABLE OF KILLING A GOD
I think you could say, if you read up on Kratos' backstory, you're viewing the story more through Kartos' eyes, if you don't, you're more in Atreus' shoes. Both have their appeal. But either way, there aren't any real spoilers for the story ahead. Again if you read up on it, you'll see WHY Kratos' did the things he did (between the end of the last game and now), if you don't you'll see WHAT he did and how it affected him.
Personally I'd say read (or watch) up on Kratos' story, since the players are supposed to know who he is, this game further develops his character arc, so it's quite important where he came from and it will make some decisions of him more impactful. But the game works either way.
Nice pumpkin 🎃 😅
Ps: A recap of God of War 1-3 would help you see what kratus have became and what he is been through.
You can throw the axe way faster with r1 btw.
But it also does less damage.
I would use r1 tho.
Always look up and search every meter of all areas for hidden loot. 👀 🔎
“I thought it was Loki.”
Oh, you’re in for a BIG surprise later on!
3:38 "i don't want to spoil anything but at the same time if it gives me a more emotional one, i am all up for that."
Then u have your answer already.
Ensure u watch the most comprehensive story about Kratos if u do.
However (this might be too early but) if u have plan to replay the game again, i suggest not to watch his backstory so that u will have different experience for the second play.

1:13:24 "The Axe isn't working."
Check your Shield Combat skills to overcome this situation the way u are suppose to.
Love the way you properly pronounce the words. Baldur, Muspelheim, sleep (jk on this one. Lol). By the by, some areas in the Lake of Nine are inaccessible until the game is progressed further. Cheers and have a good shhleep.
Please keep uploading god of war videos
I love your reactions
You should watch a recap on 1-3 and upload it on the channel
There are 3 main games for god of war franchise, it might be a little to time consuming to go back and play all three. Maybe reading about the back story is not a bad option.
PS: love the serie, please craft some armour
One question, u played the older games?? If u haven't, then this walkthrough is pointless. At least watch a recap so that u know who tf is this badass of a character. I still don't get why people play games ignoring the history behind the character. Like this is the eighth EIGHTH INSTALMENT OF THE FRANCHISE!!
