Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice | Into the Mountain (Analysis)

Hello Everyone!

Today we continue Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice!

Senua, a Pict Warrior who suffers from severe Psychosis, travels into Hel in order to rescue the soul of her lost love. However, during the Journey she must pass several trials that dig deep into the root of her psychosis as well as emotional troubles.

In this latest video in the Hellblade Explained Series, Senua takes the newly forged sword and travels into the mountain. On her trek through, a monster waits in the shadows. A beast will act as a guardian to the gates of Hel. After delving deeper and deeper, she confronts this monster to recover a lost treasure.

In this video we will discuss my interpretation of these events and what symbolic events are occurring for her. Hope you enjoy!

  1. I'm so stoked for this sequel. We really have a lot of the same video game likes. The deep psychological ones. Remedy and Ninja Theory should have some updates for us soon. And props to you keeping up with these videos that aren't saturated with mind numbing content.

  2. I have one complaint about this, sometimes the you should not go into the cave or fight the dragon sometimes all you do is lose all you had on a foolish desire for things that were either beyond your reach or beyond the cost it would take to obtain, the stories delight in survivor bias and given how pervasive the myth is sometimes it might be important to make it so people do not try to make the apathy of the universe work on narrative rules that fail to work on it.
