  1. I heavily debated calling this A Man Who Hates Bad Writing Plays Heavy Rain. It is absolutely bad writing, but the game is so absolutely bad and stupid that I felt calling it that would be letting it off easy hahaha. It's mad to think that this game was so critically acclaimed back in the day

  2. The whole interrogation scene with Ethan, Blake and Norman is basically the interrogation scene from DBH with Connor and Reed, I can just see Cage grabbing the old file from Heavy Rain and copypasting it into the script for Detroit. Blake IS Gavin Reed, even some of their lines are the same. Apparently that's the only way David Cage knows how to write about police work and police detectives.

  3. i was having fun dunking on this game, but when the suicide attempt scene came up everything stopped. i may be overreacting, but as someone who's attempted suicide in the past (don't worry i'm doing better now) i found it incredibly forced and disrespectful. there are ways to properly depict suicide, but this.. ain't it chief. the fact that the woman was in what looked like lingerie felt wrong, and the scene felt so forced just for shock value or to tug at the player's / viewer's heartstrings. this game almost definitely could've cut out the attempted suicide and been just fine.

  4. Why does it feel like the writer of this saw the game Detroit become human, one saw movie in which he missed the entire point of it, and like 14 seasons of NCIS and went “what if all this was combined into a game”

  5. Okay what the fuck was the ending there, this is the first time I see this game fully played out and "I finally found a dad that can save his son so imma kill him" do they ever fuckin explain this???????

  6. Another fun thing to note is that there's literally no sign of Scott at the start of the game. In the ending he's just standing, watching. In the acual footage from the start there's nobody there. Presumably because by the time David Cage came up with this "amazing" plot idea, it was too late to put in the effort to just pop his character in the original scene.

  7. The way David Cage writes women gives me enough rage to power an entire city for six months

Edit: oh my god he added a "girl power" line after a woman fights off a r*pist. Oh my god. I am going to k word somebody

  8. 59:30 Blake should honestly have been sacked at this point.

Ethan Mars was in a coma for 6 months after Jason's death. The Origami Killings began during those 6 months.

Why did everyone forget this plot detail that gives Ethan a perfect alibi?

Though if they had remembered I would love to see someone try to argue Ethan was faking being in a coma and managed to find moments in the hospital he was likely checked in at to sneak out and carry out the child abductions/killings without the doctors, nurses, or other such medical staff (plus Ethan's ex-wife and Shaun if they paid him visits to see how he's doing) ever noticing he was gone.

David Cage should never go anywhere near murder mysteries ever again.

  9. 1:23:24 Behold, David Cage's Self Insert Character! A creepy fat ugly rapist club owner/criminal.

    1:24:50 David Cage everyone.

1:27:30 The criteria on whether or not the only Female Player Character in this game gets a good ending is if she hooks up with one of the Male Player Characters.

How has David Cage not been cancelled yet?

1:34:43 Madison's thoughts: That name! I've never heard that person's name before or have met them. David Cage has done it again!

1:38:13 It is physically impossible for Scott Shelby to have killed Manfred (Von Karma), make the phone call to the cops narcing on himself and Lauren, open the window to fake an escape from, come back to the room Lauren is in that we see him in when we control him all within the time frame that the camera focuses on Lauren with the ballerina and we don't see Scott Shelby.

Why would he even do all that to fool Lauren/The player? What's the pay off to making one of the characters in this murder mystery the killer when all their private thoughts have led us to believe they really were working to find out who the killer is and bring them to justice.

Who lies within their own mind about something like that?

1:39:26 That makes no sense whatsoever. This whole mystery doesn't hold up at all even if you account for the game taking out the psychic mind link blackout nonsense Ethan supposedly has with the Origammy Killer. It doesn't make sense that Scott Shelby is the killer.

Hell, I'd be fine with Blake being the killer just because of how stupid and ridiculous the actual twists is. It'd be a bit disappointing the asshole idiot cop was only being that incompetent and dickish on purpose to throw a wrench in things for Jayden, but it's better than the game lying to our faces repeatedly about what it is happening.

1:41:39 Scott Shelby just witnessed a father throw his life away to save their child. He got what he wanted, the killings shouldn't have happened then.

If they had been happening before Jason's death and then stopped before starting again once Ethan woke from his coma then maybe the whole Is Ethan the Origarmy Killer? thing would have been less ridiculous.
