  1. Oh dear, you may have just told time traveling cyborgs exactly when and where to find you. We went to Hayling Island last year on holiday, we only really saw a caravan sight and a bit of the beach. Looked like busy traffic on the water though. I would definitely be Michael Knight, but maybe with less hair.

  2. Cool walk for a cool dude. Although, it looks like the .gpx royally screwed you. Swim in poo was the best changing of a sign Iโ€™ve ever seen.
I have a continuity question which is , I donโ€™t quite understand how you got from Havant to the island bit. Was that a train that crossed the water?

  3. My first home when I moved to Portsmouth was in the ex navy maisonettes just up the road from the Hayling Ferry. We lived in a top one so had a great view of the Solent. We often used to walk to South Parade Pier and back in the summer.

  4. Swim in poo is an excellent piece of work, even better than Arse Heath on the Island ! As for a TV Character I think I would like to be Inspector Montalbano he seems to have a pretty cool life and I would also by default be able to speak Italian.

  5. Iโ€™d be Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap. Travelling time & being different people would be fun. But stressful no doubt.
Iโ€™m loving the mini Marek pics at the end of your videos

  6. Hello cool dude, I was also at hayling the other day, as I dont live that far away. If you ever need picking up let me know! So many walks around my area! Love your videos! Keep up the work Mr Marek

  7. Hey Marek, I watched your vid earlier whilst eating some very disappointing cheese. Your vid was great though! I loved the photos you took too-the colour of the sea looked gorgeous!
I'd love to be Jessica Jones. She's just so cool. I wouldn't want her liver though.

  8. Fact about Havant:
It's a contraction of the words 'have' and 'not'! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Question of the day answer:
I'd be Sheriff Noah Stilinski in MTV's Teen Wolf series, that way I get to interact with all the cool supernatural stuff and know all the characters but not have to be in danger all the time. Even if my life would be stressful.

  9. This was a great walk and the route along Hayling Island is much nicer than the route of the Solent Way which takes you miles along the rubbish A2030 Eastern Rd. Thereโ€™s also a nudey beach at Eastney which a workmate warned me of as I walked past to Southsea last summer ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
And if I could be a TV character Iโ€™d be either Starbuck from the 70s Battlestar Galactica tv series or one of the Dukes of Hazard

  10. Another great video Marek. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘ Always pleased to see a new walk from you. It's really nice down that end, I really like Portsmouth and surrounding area. When we go over to the Isle of Wight, we always get to the port a couple of hours early, so we can spend a couple of hours in the City.
I always wanted to be one of "The Proffesionals". I loved that show, very gritty & I loved the car chases. ๐Ÿ˜
    Facts about 'Havant' :-
1/ We stayed in the Premier Inn in Havant last year. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ณ
2/ The locals pronounce it "Hav-Ant". With the emphasis on the 'A'. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.). My Birmingham accent made me pronounce it "Havunt", & I was quickly & quite rightly put right by a nice chap in the Mary Rose Museum. ๐Ÿ˜†
Keep up the great videos. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘

  11. Hey Marek, Havant and Waterlooville FC currently play in the National League South- the sixth tier of English football. I hope this is of some interest to you. Thanks for the cool vid. SC

  12. Love seeing Southsea! Spent so much time there in my life I get homesick seeing it! Also I don't know why I was surprised you'd never been to Hayling Island but then I'm not really sure why you'd go there if you already live on IOW and have beautiful surroundings!! ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ
We went to Hayling a few times as kids, we'd usually go to Pompey or Southsea as my family are all from there and my Grandparents lived just outside of Botley, so it was a short train ride for us from their's. I think we went for a change of scenery, but all I remember is the time we had jam sandwiches and there was a lot of wasps!!! ๐Ÿ˜ณ
Some useless info: that tall white building in the background at Eastney is a Uni of Pompey hall of residence! Had a friend in there when I went. We were based in the Guildhall campus but with the view she had I could never decide if the distance was unlucky for her or not!!

  13. I haven't walked around Havant in ages. I enjoyed cycling the Hayling Billy Trail last year until I got a puncture!
TV Character: Michaela Strachan from Springwatch, Autumnwatch & Winterwatch. Being out in nature permanently, (minus Chris Packham), absolute bliss! Thank you for another uplifting walking video cool dude!

  14. Of COURSE I was going to say (c)wasn't I? Saw the most amazing spectacular electric thunder storm๐ŸŒฉ on Hayling Island many moons ago. Havant fact…my cousin lives there. Please can I be Demelza from Poldark…..I need a Ross in my life. Talking of which, my husband says he wants to be Captain Kirk (with the amount of Star Trek stuff in this house he already IS tbh)……The hatby the way, is very you…it's like an old friend you take along with you on your Treks…(thankfully not Star Treks). x J x

  15. Your "slight artistic license adjustment" when painting the wonderful view reminded me of the story of the surrealist Max Ernst's father (Philipp Ernst) who was painting a picture of his garden when he omitted a tree that spoiled the composition. Then "overcome with remorse" at his offense against realism, he cut down the tree.

  16. What's up, cool dude? To say this video is incredibly picturesque would be an understatement! And I do like the soundtrack. Ghost story was kinda terrifying, right enough. Incredible effort and magnificent video, do keep 'em coming! Thank you

  17. Another great walk with all the information that you could ever need. Character from TV show would have to be Magnum P.I. who was so cool that they named an ice cream after him (probably)

  18. Many years ago I was walking along Southsea Esplanade with my kids and they insisted on following the zig-zag pattern of the light coloured paving slabs. Took ages to get along there doing that, so I'm glad you didn't do the same thing.

  19. Another top video Marek! Really enjoyed this walk with gorgeous scenery. Didnโ€™t realise how walkable this was so itโ€™s been an inspiration and a revelation! Many thanks

  20. Another cracking video – lovely to see a bit of sun, sea and blue sky! And thank you for shout out (again) – I hope the Atlas of Magical Britain serves you well. The gear guides on the site have been very helpful BTW – everyone should have a sit-mat and a buff, plus I've found that amazing walking clothes and shoes actually are the proper sizes – not like high street stuff where now they seemingly slap any number on a garment and hope of the best!

  21. I love ghost stories, and abandoned/flooded towns are a favorite subsection of the genre. I just finished the book My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones, and one of its scarier elements was Drown Town (I also love a rhyming name). I would be Dana Scully from the early seasons of the X Files.
