I have visited the Philadelphia Zoo many times in the late 90s and early 2000s. I had a membership for a year or so and enjoyed my visits. I don't doubt there could be spirits or haunting in and around the area but personally I never had such encounter. I do remember the peafowl walking around uncaged and screaming- at first I really did think someone or something was screaming bloody murder, than I saw the peafowl and identified them as the source. It is a beautiful zoo. I do miss it.
I would ask if any of the animals inside the zoo acted strangely at times, as if they saw or felt an unseen presence near them. 🤔
