Harvesting the first heirloom tomatoes and a beautiful allotment morning planting lavender.

Summer 2024 has arrived, and the first heirloom tomatoes have ripened.

Before that though, we pop up to the allotment as it’s such a beautiful morning, with mist in the valleys and heavy dew on the allotment to plant some lavender plants and do a plot tour.

Happy growing.

  1. Fabulous Chris, my tomatoes are thinking about growing 😂 but the plants themselves are huge. We finally have rain here so it seems we traded with you as it looks so sunny there. Have an amazing week Chris, Ali ☔️☔️🇨🇦

  2. Lovely update, Chris 😊The Verbena looked absolutely stunning in the light 😍 and the misty mornings are starting to roll in. Everything has been covered with dew in the mornings 🌄 The netting you're using is scaffolding netting? Or some other fine-mesh? Great harvest of tomatoes 🍅 Look forward you taste tasting them.
    Best wishes, Maiju 😊💚🌿

  3. Also growing Sart Roloise, Alice’s Dream and Lucid Gem, so looking forward to your taste test! In comparison here on the SE Coast in the greenhouse in Autopots. Mine are looking a bit behind yours and are yet to ripen. Alice’s Dream and Sart Roloise after the first 3 trusses appears to have stalled. Lucid Gem is a really prolific in both fruit and growth, also the tallest with Rebel Starfighter👍. I’ve also put a sucker of Pork Chop, Lucid Gem and Alice’s Dream outside and they interestingly look much healthier plants and are now setting fruit…. This seasons weather has been so challenging, both in and out of the greenhouse!
