Great reaction and I totally get this isn't the film everybody was expecting or wasted but man I loved this film. My favorite horror film of the year and this has been a great year for horror in general.

I feel like we need some new Slasher killers. Current genre of horror doesnt have that spark for me, and poor Freddy, Jason, Michael, Leatherface and Ghostface have been abused for 3-4-5 decades at this point.
I think i can justify some of your issues with the movie. About Michael being weak, remember the quote: "The more he kills, the more he transcends into something else, impossible to defeat." Michael has been in the sewers for 4 years, and killing every now and then isn't enough to heal his infected wounds and make him a beast again. Michael has been reflecting for all these years, and we see that he's carved his mask into the wall. I guess he uses Corey to leave his legacy in Haddonfield. Michael killed the cop guy and the nurse in 2 days, not enough for him to become a beast. Corey took his mask too for the majority of Halloween night, so when he finally faced Laurie he wasn't strong enough. I also heard before that Michael became stronger by feeding off fear, and that's why he was so unstoppable in Kills – the combination of people believing he is immortal and the amount of kills he got in. Laurie and Corey realised he is just a man. And with Halloween, its not all about Michael, its about his affect on the town and how evil can control anyone. Michael let Corey go and do his stuff because he saw the same darkness in Corey's eyes that he sees in himself when he looks out that window. Michael didn't turn Corey evil – Haddonfield did. The constant bullying and harassment turned him into what he was. This is one of the reasons Corey's character is done so well and why he's my favourite. Corey taking Michael's place and doing the majority of the killing is nothing bad to me – he is still the evil that infects Haddonfield. The Shape is what turned Corey, The Shape is what caused the hospital scene in Kills.

Monster Squad is a movie that I have always loved because it respected that kids watch F-d up stuff and maybe that’s not the worst thing! 🤷🏾♂️ coulda used a black friend in the movie but I still felt represented as a kid horror fan!
When I was 6 I got super sick for almost a week and my mom rented me Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and I watched it over and over. That was back in the day where buying the vhs would have been either very expensive or used!
Fun fact: Michael was in this movie for a minute longer than the original.

I didn't like this scene. Cory man handling Michael looks absurd. It kills the reality/ fictional logic built in the Halloween franchise. Michael Myers has been dethroned by a twerp. 👑

I went to go see this movie in theatres with a friend & we were the only one there besides 1 other couple & they kept fucking talking the ENTIRE time. I enjoyed it but I didn’t get the full experience because of their irrelevant conversations. 🙄
