My favourite series
You are fucking legend, Keep it up!
Oh this is glorious, but what a mess of a battle!
Was pretty easy considering the xp on ya units
That was really impressive having so little protection for your ranged units.
I hate ambush battles, so my armies always have a lone light cavalry unit go ahead of them to trigger ambushes.
I just had a siege that was equally daunting: outnumbered 2:1, with the enemy posessing superior soldiers. Only thing I had going were the archers (I'm playing Chosokabe), and two very brave generals (including the Daimyo).
It was a knock-down, drag out fight. I lost three units, and most of the others lost at least half their men.
The enemy wasn't so lucky…The Daimyo (who was the sole survivor of his unit) personally slew the enemy commander! We won, despite the odds!
Main reason I won was that I kept up the inspire and rally from both my generals. So the enemy had to kill every last soldier to get a unit off the battlefield. Would have taken fewer losses, if the enemy had fallen for the bait I'd set up (I had one of the gates burned, in the hopes of luring the enemy. The never tried attacking there.
I guess all this is to show how useful these traits are, and how you can win with an inferior army in Shogun 2.
That's my first campaign, btw XD
Armor really is the Best upgrade on a unit you can get. Like think about it, Ashigaru are HIGHLY vulnerable to Missile fire, Monks have Low Armor as well, and Given Melee stats will improve with XP anyway, Armor on Samurai Units just makes them even Tankier then normal. Plus, Armor might help with "melee defense" as well but i can't confirm that.
Hmmm, Melee, Armor, Accuracy, Charge and Moral if i recall all the upgrades correctly, and they have 3 levels (bronze, silver, gold). Bronze lvl 1, Silver lvl 2 and Gold lvl 3, if memory serves you NEED the upgraded Encampments as well as maxed out "upgrade" paths to get Gold. Otherwise if you so choose you can get 1 silver and 1 bronze upgrade. (like say, silver Armor and Bronze morale)
Then theirs just the Barracks upgrade which improves unit replenishment and reduces recruitment costs.
