I’ve had this gun in the workshop for over a year, and I finally realised that I will Never have the time to build the jobs to repair this gun correctly!
Feeling inspired by the 525 I recently glued together – I thought I’d try superglue on a much bigger job….
Enjoy (and thankyou Mr G)

This is a testament to modern glues.
It has no right to be together. It should’ve fallen apart faster than a love island romance!
That opens ip a bunch of cheap guns from Holts!
Well that was surprising! Did not think it would make 2/3 shoot
Here a challenge for you
Make a new stock for in for the channel 👍.
Great job. I have a few guns that are held together this way and no problem.
2:25 you got your own man made clamps 😂
Got a call early morning many years back. It was my gunsmith letting me know he had dropped my newly bought trap stock and broken it. Well put it back together then I said. Nope, can´t be done he replied. Went to pick the pieces up and superglued them back together. That was 18 years ago and that stock has seen a lot of use in that time, used for competitions and as a club gun. Stock still in good shape, same can not be said about the gun ("another gunsmith")
Not much is stronger than superglue. I'm curious how the "proper" method could be better (besides esthetically).
Very ambitious! I like the can-do attitude. Perry P., So Cal., USA
On camera anyway, that’s a good looking shotgun! Be perfect to put on and sand up an extension on the butt and comb or whatever it needs until it fits and send off to a duplicator with a nice chunk of timber to shape up. Little final fitting, finish and checkering and it would likely be fairly pricey in my neck of the world. 👍🏼
I would have used wood glue. Super glue isn't very forgiving. 👍
Good old cyno acrylic glues! I am surprised as they do not penetrate pourhouse surfaces such as wood so quickly as they set in the way they do. But well done! God knows how the gun ended up in such a state before repair!!!
I'll stick with Titebond.
What a job jonny you put alot of love of your talent into this project.
Nicely done! It'd be a good rain gun
Bloody hell thats one hell of a fix
video of a proper fix maybe ?
Had a single clean break on an AYA, used 2 threaded rods cross drilled from inside the side locks through the break, using 2 part 30min epoxy, clamped under tension for 48 hours, worked like a champ…
Hardest thing was to find a 8 inch long 9/16 bit for the rod holes
Five to Seven isn't bad, you should have seen the Mark-V that came across my bench after the individual used magnum pistol powder in his rifle reloads. Upon pulling the trigger It disassembled itself quite violently, the deluxe walnut stock was turned into match sticks.
I wonder if you can 3d print a stock…….?
Not gonna lie, these are my favorite types of videos.
Should be stronger really done loads of repairs, its good to pin them to if you can .nice one 👌👍
I’d use a 2-pack, so any gaps are filled.
Is it an IKEA gunstock
Lose the beard Jonny you look like a stretched Ed Sheeran 🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🇬🇧
Super glue (cyanoacrylate) is water soluble. Good luck in the Rain…
Not sure I'd be brave enough for this super glue hack but don't need to be now. Another entertaining clip. Keep em coming Jonny!
I really like this type of video
As far as I know, PVA wood glue (like Titebond) is actually stronger than the surrounding wood when joined and properly cured. So, at least for most cracks, you should be able to glue a stock back together with PVA and never have to worry about the joint coming apart again.
It's pure junk! I'll take it off your hands for little to nothing. Thanks!
A friend of mine sold a gun which you bought the cracked 525 you did a previous video on !
Looks like the hillside is aflame!
Lovely guns regret selling mine .excellent video Jonny ,just the subject for us .
enjoyed it , well done
Definitely have to see how heavy a cartridge it could withstand…. working your way up in power. light bird shot to heavy buckshot or even slug…….😮 how good is superglue…..???
I see that gun was a victim of the "fat lab then" 😄
I love your old world workshop the meter thick painted brick to the super cool huge sliding wooden door that was one point in time the fire door haha. Old small workshops like these are a gem.
