DRAMATIC moment police officers rescued a woman in distress in a dramatic water rescue.
Officers carried out the rescue in Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA after receiving a call from a passer-by reporting a woman on the rocks of the Lake Michigan shoreline.
A video shows the woman sitting on the rocks in the area of Fisherman Drive and throwing herself into the water while officers shout: “Don’t do it! Do not do this!”
The young woman is quickly pulled from the water by an officer who jumped in with her.
She can be heard saying: “Let me die, I’m not worth it.”
The young woman was treated for hypothermia alongside an officer who entered the water during the rescue.
Lt Leo Viola, of the Kenosha PD commended the responding officers for their work and the passer-by who made the call.
