  1. Boneshatter might be copium for 3.20 with the loss of the mantra of flames jewel, I suspect that was carrying a lot of simulacrum runs which would explain the very high levels acheived.

  2. Hey Phreak thanks for the information and your time! I didn't hear you mention removal of mantra of flames for the boneshatter. That's a crazy nerf to the skill, were the ssf boneshatter using mantra of flames? Or will it matter? Cheers

  3. In truth, these play %/level matter very little. There are two reasons for this. First, xp gained doesn't equate to beating hard content. Therefore, levels only give an indication of success in Softcore, but a majority of people who rush 100 in the first week do so using extremely low effort and safe content. This is due to racing, and there is nothing wrong with having this priority. However, a huge portion of these builds are utterly unable to transition to entire categories of endgame. This is fine if XP is the only goal, but in Truth levels matter very little for most people. They want to know what clears the content they want to play, and roughly what investment the build entails.

This issue in making evaluations comes into light when looking at the Poison Concoction PF v Occultist example. One ascendancy is very decisively oriented towards clear speed, and the other drastically improves the bossing experience. If taking only these stats into account the decision seems easy, but in reality it isn't.

The second issue is that this data is based on a percentage of players, not total number. The distinction becomes more obvious when you look at Softcore. People die, they lose XP, they fall further behind statistically compared to those who didn't but it doesn't necessarily mean that they have quit playing. The indexing is also restrictive, and by week 3 only L97-100 is shown. If player numbers rise or people experience easier leveling (Archnemesis is nerfed) that threshold will only become more trivial to reach.

  4. People got tired of Conduit because they don't know how to be innovative and use all the nice items the game gives them. I saw so many run around using Conduit keeping to the small circle of whatever that other shock skill is and they had no room to work with. While I, not at all a veteran checked shock PoE Wiki before Kalandra launch and saw that Necro corpses could shock and that Corpsewalker boots left a unlimited amount of corpses as you moved and with that made what I like to think was my own build with Annihilating Light in hand had teh best time I've ever had in PoE even tho the league sucked. I was melting bosses and clearing screens by pressing 1 single button as necro corpse shock had a surprisingly large shock area.
Now I'm going to do the same but replace the staff with Voltaxic Rift and incorporate some chaos abilities and items.
This league sounds like it's going to be a nice mix between Lab and Heist.

  5. I think the biggest issue when trying to judge with statistics in a game like this and its culture is that there are a tremendous amount of copy cats and people following streamer PoB. And when these people who want powerful characters realize that a build needs some extra investment and work to become truly powerful they lose interest because in all honesty most PoE players are not very good at the game if they could not use and follow what streamers put out there.

  6. Note: Slayer Boneshatter was only 'actually' as viable as it was because Mantra of Flames was making it scale really hard, deep delve pushers were reporting going from hundreds of millions of dps to single digit millions. Mantra of Flames is no longer going to be in the game.

  7. This is off topic, but why doesnt this video show up when i search for poe league starter 3.20 on youtube? ive been watching poe videos ever since the league anouncement and am constantly refreshing youtube in search of new, informative videos about the game. i mustve watched atleast 40 poe videos in the past week yet this video (or any videos from your channel) never appeard in my search or in the recommended video list. ive even gotten recommended videos with many less views and from much smaller channels. i found out about this video from Venturas stream when i saw him watch it. its such a sshame to be honest, this video is very informative and well made.
