Imagine being dumb enough to farm in an open field of dirt when indoor hydroponics exist lmao.
This hurts because I think if confronted with this I’d want to go with my wife or gf I know it’s sad but I can’t let them go I would feel guilty for not being with them all the way life would feel empty and I’d want to eventually end it snd being alone would be worse than at least taking a big leap with your partner this story managed to make me cry i haven’t since you made feelspastas

Just listening to this I'm literally imaging these growths as vaginas. Folds,pollops,weird bubbles. Like yeah what bank would honestly sell a house on a farm with an STD vagina looking growth in your front yard. I imagine the Bush around that would probably just as enduring as the growth itself. Lost in laughter right now,good story but a better laugh.

Kind of a love and hate relationship with these types of endings to a story.
On one hand it works alright, leaving the end up to the reader to contemplate, as the "Terrifying unkown" .
And for a story that only uses the Growths as a side plotpoint, concentrating instead on the personal grief and feelings of the main characters it might be for the best.
Even though it then leaves the growths completely redundant to the story in the end, easily replaced by anything else with a call of the void.
Reminded me of the short stories by an English author John Bradshaw, like the story "Steps" of a man who seeks a ruined tower admist a forest, and upon walking it's steps to the top, finds it impossible to reach the bottom of the endlessly unwinding spiral staircase.
This is probably only a me thing, but i feel more inclined to hear a creepypasta with a short title, those are usually better than " my friends and i saw a monster in the woods, now is chasing us one by one and then this happened"

As this was playing I started looking for the author, thinking "This feels like one of Vincent V. Cava's." That's a hell of a testament to his short stories, I think, like being able to pick out a great guitarist from hearing a few notes.
These things sound like an extreme version of teratomata, which are real things that can grow inside people.
Edit: before anyone freaks out too much, they are benign and don't eat you alive.
