I agree that Jaws/Shark movies, will never be as good as what Steven Spielberg did! What he did was actually by shear stroke of luck, Because of the mechanical shark(Bruce) not working up to par, they were forced to go a different route, by just using good writing and suspense(remember that?) as it was a good hour before we got to see the big beast!
And it worked in the movies favor, as it scared the heck out of movie goers, and it was the time just before the VHS /video market, you had to go back to the theater to see it!
I was one of those, paying to watch it at least 6-7 times that summer alone! I've watched so many times now, I've lost count but never get sick of it as it is a great movie!
Saw Jaws in 75. Scared the crap out of me. Still to this day don't like going out on the ocean.
My dad took me to Jaws3, 3D in theaters when I was four. Loved jaws ever since, especially the original.
