  1. 7:27 hoo boy you must not be keeping up with the books because WOW they’ve been getting gorier and gorier by the minute and have gotten MUCH less afraid to brutally kill teenagers in excruciating detail

  2. My favorite thing is that they opened the movie with clear proof that the animatronics are not to be fucked with, with that poor guy. Combine that with the multiple other deaths and it does a good job of making every single scene involving them really, REALLY tense.

  3. The thing that makes me so happy is that the tone was absolutely perfect. I was afraid it was either going to be nonstop guts and blood and death, or super reliant on modern humor and references and hardly be suspenseful.

However, I thought it was a pretty decent horror movie, on top of being really heartfelt at times. It was a bit goofy at times, but it felt like it was having fun with itself. The horror was still pretty strong imo, the animatronics are MASSIVE and pretty threatening, and even the silly cupcake that has half the kills is pretty frightening, even if it's just being over-the-top and cheesy.

Also, the relationship between Mike and his sister was sweet, and I'm glad it got to be that way. It was a really genuine movie, and I'm really thankful for that.

  4. it alright

but dear god i do feel the fact that it's PG-13 held it back a bit too much…. just like i predicted, none of the deaths happen directly on camera, always conveniently out of frame or in shadows.

  5. honestly the movie falls into the "so bad it's good" category for me lol, it's all over the place in more ways than one and any time it tries to be serious or scary it just feels goofy

    and that's me being generous….

  6. This is definitely a movie better seen with a group of people who are already fans of the franchise. Their energy and love of the lore amps you up, bettering the experience IMO. I rewatched it on Peacock by myself and it was easier to notice all the flaws. I still had fun watching it, but I can't be too surprised if someone who isn't into the franchise didn't like it. As a fan of the games, it's fine, but if I'm being honest, as a movie it's just kind of…meh. Like, if the games never existed and you were just watching a movie would it still be great? Could it honestly stand on its own WITHOUT the popularity of the IP? I feel the same about this as I did about the Super Mario Movie; it's fun, but I understand why some people don't think much of it. It was a mostly 'okay' movie. And I do understand that they had a lot of lore to get through and they had to start somewhere. I DO hope the sequel is better.

  7. they completely wrote themselves into a corner by retconning Micheal Afton, Elizibeth Afton, henry emily, charlotte, and the crying child and making vanessa his kid when she shouldn't have even been born for another 54 years. they have zero way to make any of the other games into a movie if they wanted to except maybe fnaf 3, also the springbonnie suits eyes shouldn't even look the way they do considering the eyes only looked like that in the game because they were the eyes of the decaying human body in the suit not the actual animatronic eyes
