And now we're getting to the part that puts Oden's flashback at peak level
Orochi has been snaking, but he's not the mastermind. A subject of family-wide assassination himself, due to his grandfather trying to take the role of shogun for himself, Orochi was approached by fellow Kurozumi loyalists; one with Bon Clay's DF which allows her to play the role of other people (we may've seen a young Shiki too in her slideshow of faces), paired with stealing and borrowing money until he rose to being misconstrued as an ally of Oden until becoming deputy Shogun.
All the while we get to him. We've heard stories of Roger through friends and enemies, witnesses of his death, stories of who he fought, where he went, but we've never truly witnessed it. Pre-Pirate King Roger was already a force of chad energy, swatting away Oden in a single strike, but then the big boys came to play.
The 'Clash of Kings' definitely rattled the landscape of what we knew about Haki, we've seen the skies parted by clashes, but nothing so powerful that the blades don't even touch each other. If Whitebeard was in his prime Marineford would've been a doddle. Fighting though is just a formality between rivals it seems, as Roger reveals his reason for wanting to meet Oden: he can read the Poneglyphs for him. Before there was a 'One Piece' Roger believed there was an island beyond the last island they traveled, Lodestar island, and that the Poneglyphs (one of which he stole from Big Mom) would tell him the position, so he wants to borrow Oden for a year to venture it to complete this voyage, and to complete a dream not heard to the audience.
So begins Oden's voyage with Roger, despite Whitebeard being a bit annoyed by it, accompanied with his family, Inu and Neko, the journey to the Final Island begins

Youโre wrong is actually not the pirate king Roger gon say and because the title pirate king never existed until it was given to him without him even asking for it. It something that we donโt know yet. Luffy is in the same boat as well. The only one that knows luffy true dream goal is ace and sabo. Becoming pirate king is what will help him reach his actual dream.

Personally I do feel bad for Orochi and his past. In manga, I think it was also shown that he had to see how his parents were murdered and thrown over a cliff. In a way Orochi and Momonosuke went through the same things in the past:
– parents were murdered due to the other ones family
– got chased through the country just because they were born in a specific family
– they had followers who told them in young age that they were chosen to be shogun
– they both allied themself with pirates in order to take the shogun title from the other.
The only diffrence is that the people who wanted to make Orochi shogun were the worst possible influence he could get.
If the people in Wa No Kuni wouldnt have gone after the whole Kurzumi family after what Orochis grandfather did, none of those tragedy in the present might would have come.
