GMG Reviews – Dawnbringers V – Shadow of the Crone by Games Workshop

We’re into the FIFTH book of the DAWNBRINGERS for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. In this one, it’s the return of Strongpoint terrain rules (much like the 40k expansion of some years ago). We’ve also got a new Daughters of Khaine Character and Army of Renown and a beautiful new Order Regiment of Renown. Let’s check it out!

4:08 – Strongpoints
7:16 – Daughters of Khaine
14:24 – Callis & Toll
17:10 – Final Thoughts

Big thanks to GW for the complimentary copy of the book to review.

  1. Crone Seer granting out of turn movement is incredibly good. Her ability triggers in the Hero Phase (and there's one of those in both player's turn) and one per turn (with both players getting a turn per round). Pair it with something cheap and fast and you can out of turn move a screen up and block enemy movement so they can't get into position.

  2. Nice idea for those terrain rules.
Would just be damn shame if . . THAT NONE OF THOSE ARE BEING SOLD ANY MORE!
Seriously GW has a bizarre issue of having almost no terrain available at all.
Even more bizarre in the case of 40k where the game rules is so intrinsically written with their ruins in mind, yet they don't sell them either.

  3. I might have all that terrain… I used to buy those books for the story but I haven't even played 3rd ed AoS yet… Just started a Flesh Eaters Court army because I needed Ushoran, and I know I'm going to buy Callis and Toll.

  4. The Callis n Toll kit are just killer models. You can pair them with the Warhammer Underworlds crew, Hexbanes Hunters and make a 1000pt war cry band with em.. Witch Hunters 4 tha win.
