  1. This is lovely, Mike. You made me feel like I walked around the Pavillion and took a quick glance at what was offered in the booths

  2. And devir is pronounced the way you did on your second attempt (deveer) it's a Spanish publisher. The white castle guys I think are the same guys as the red cathedral guys.

  3. Great to hear your early thoughts on Chip Theory's Elder Scrolls game. It's been on my radar, but want more info on it before committing. Looking forward to your content on it whenever it's time.

  4. I was not intrigued by this until I saw the simplicity of the gameplay and the fact that it’s a race to 20 points (lore) instead of being about pummeling the life out of one other person. This also makes it a much better multiplayer game than most tcgs! I’m excited for it now!

  5. This is a brilliant video and what I have been waiting to see from Gen Con 2023 for a solo/coop experience. Best video for this so far 🙂 Really intrigued by many of the games you have mentioned. BTW congrats on the first Gen Con I wish to make it myself one day but that's why I love videos like these for me in Australia. Good luck with teaching for the new year, I just resigned from my teaching job haha.
Flame and Fang – What you say about this sounds really cool (exploration, deck building, dragons obviously, etc) keen to see more of this in the future, will be following 🙂
Borderlands – Was a big fan myself of the second video game (dozens of hours). I remember the crowdfunding campaign and felt there perhaps wasn't enough variety for solo.
    river of gooooooooooooooooooooooooooold
Metal Gear Solid – Hopefully does well but i'm not big on sneak/stealth type games but wishing the game the best.
Mists over carcassonne – first I heard of this. I have some friends that would prob love this. Is it byos for solo?
Agree to disagree – sounds like a fun drinking/party game. So i agree with you for this 😉
Star Fighters – hmmmm curious. Wondering how much of the solo mode uses the components if you are attacking a base. I will keep an eye on this.
Sky Team – defo no solo planned as of yet?
Dead Cells – I pledged for this but didn't have full confidence but I love rogue type games so hoping for the best for solo with the sword.
CGE – I have lost ruins new expansion on preorder so I'll be keen to check out your thoughts for it!
Merchants of Magik – hmmm never heard about this before considering i love set a watch. Straight to retail? Did you get to try Set A watch new game and campaign?
lawyer up – will be keen to check out solo as well.
white castle – i like dice placement. Is it a light game or is there plenty of strategy? BYOS?
Elder Scrolls – I have almost all too many bones and felt this seemed too similar except perhaps longer haha. I wish it all the best but I am glad you felt it was in your top 3 of the weekend. I am sure this would grab a bigger audience.
20 strong – is one of my most anticipated. I think I have gravitated towards smaller/quicker games but still with theme and strategy. Plus dice, so yay lol. Next big one from chip theory for me.
Kinfire Delve – I wasn't big on chronicles campaign but this delve sounds very interesting! I will take note of this one hopefully comes to Australia.
Boundless stride – the movement and tokens for some reason reminds me of runebound 3e but perhaps less random. Cool.
Defenders of the realm – I don't recall the original. Minis look great for prototype and considering I have Return to Dark Tower coming soon this looks somewhat similar mechanics. Could you make any comparisons from that? Looks great! Hopefully gameplay does get better for you as I can understand where you are coming from.
Mega Man – Glad this gets a revival with Kess (blacklist also owes me a game haha but to have a whole designed game to be held must've frustrated you). So will this be able to deliver to Australia?

Horror on Orient Express – I can see this getting a lot of love from plenty of people, unfortunately I am in the minority of people that didn't like either this war of mine or frostpunk but I appreciate the effort in the game design for both just not for me so wondering if this game will be similar in that it's way too hard, too hard to get to the table with long set up…I dunno I think I am being harsh haha.

Again, Thank you Mike and sorry for the wall of text I just get excited for new solo/coop games incoming YAY! Hope you enjoyed your first trip to gen con!

  6. Great video! Just a heads up: Scorpion Masqué has an accent on the last e, and it should pronounced in english ''Scoprion mask-ay''.

Scoprion masqué means ''Masked Scoprion'' whereas Scoprion Masque without the é would simply mean ''Scorpion Mask'', which is a bit of a different. Hope this helps! 😀
