Game of Thrones History | A deep dive | Rhoynar

The Rhoynar were a proud and ancient people, renowned for their mastery of water and their devotion to the river goddess, Mother Rhoyne. For centuries, they flourished along the mighty Rhoyne River, their cities gleaming like jewels in the sun, each one a testament to their artistry and engineering. From the towering spires of Ny Sar to the verdant gardens of Sarhoy, the Rhoynar lived in harmony with the river that was their lifeblood. They were a people of peace, valuing beauty and culture above all else, and their society reflected this ethos, with art, music, and poetry woven into the fabric of daily life.

But the peace of the Rhoynar was shattered when the expanding Valyrian Freehold turned its gaze upon the riverlands. The Valyrians, with their dragons and hunger for conquest, sought to claim the riches of the Rhoyne for their own. What followed was a series of brutal conflicts known as the Rhoynish Wars, where the Rhoynar fought valiantly to defend their homes and way of life.
