In an interview with Complex’s 360 With Speedy, Funny Marco talked about his very first Open Thoughts show, in which he conducted an interview with DaBaby.

He claims that the event taught him a few things, one of which was to avoid asking suspicious questions of visitors. Looking back, he would have wondered why DaBaby sounded the same on all of his tracks. He remembered asking that question. “It was dangerous,” he explained jokingly. “When I asked DaBaby why he rapped the same, I was trying to ask for the people. That was something I shouldn’t have did but I did it. But it was great. We ended up making a great episode, got a great relationship. But sometimes I’m like, don’t ask what the people want to know just ask what you need to know. So that was something that I learned from that.” There were undoubtedly some unpleasant moments in Funny Marco’s chat with DaBaby, but it wasn’t the only Open Thoughts episode to garner media attention. In October, he had an interview with G Herbo and Southside that turned out to be somewhat contentious.
