The Martin Mars is a large, four-engine cargo transport flying boat designed and built by the Martin Company in 1942 for the United States Navy during World War II. The only two surviving aircraft are owned by Coulson Aviation and stored at Sproat Lake Bomber Base in Port Alberni. They were converted to water bombers for firefighting efforts. Hawaii Mars will become a museum piece at British Columbia Aviation Museum, located at the Victoria International Airport in North Saanich, BC. The second aircraft, Philippine Mars will be donated to the Pima Air & Space Museum in Tucson, Arizona. These videos show some of the final times Hawaii Mars will ever be on Sproat Lake.
