  1. I'm still trying to figure out any pattern here, but I'm glad they chose Full Circle. In the classic series, I can't think off the top of my head of any other introductory stories that really gave the companion such a precise character arc as Adric's in Full Circle (maybe Sarah Jane in The Time Warrior comes closest). I know Andrew Smith was pretty young when he wrote this, but maybe because Adric is also the youngest companion of all time, I think he does pretty well at getting into his head. This story is so sad within the context of Earthshock.
I have always found the Deciders very amusing.

  2. Yet another Romana II story! And another awesome outfit – some Time Lord elegance, but still practical enough. Full Circle has a lot of interesting ideas, and those spiders were pretty spooky. And it was so fun seeing Lalla Ward do what she could to sell what was a silly ridiculous thing. I mean, there are plenty of times the Doctor or his companions become possessed or something but usually the writing gives them something more concrete to actually DO.

  3. For goodness sake! What went into making the creators decide to make it easy to gain entry into the TARDIS?! "They're only spiders, " said Romana, before getting bit on her pretty face and losing her mind by one of the insects. Hope they will make her more intelligent, wise and resourceful if she were to ever be reintroduced in the series…. And poor K-9 too.

  4. Legitimate question at this point: Should they decide to upload The War Games, and assuming they go with the original serial and not β€œIn Colour”, will it be in one video or two due to length?

  5. Adric (Matthew Waterhouse) wasn't given a fair shot by the critics. I really liked his character; he was a breath of fresh air. Instead of the usual companions that basically tagged along with The Doctor. Adric was like a junior Time Lord in training. πŸ™‚ His death scene got me emotional.

  6. I'm working an overnight cashier job in a truck stop to get by at the moment – I wore my Santa hat and a cheap thin 4th Doctor scarf and of all the people passing through at 3am earlier on Xmas morning I got two "Hello Doctor!" comments. One was from Detroit and the other was from Georgia heading towards Louisiana an the other cashiers were confused by this as we chatted and traded lines… It brightened up a crummy shift working overnight tonight on Xmas…
