Alot of times with alot of games, if you plug the controller in after launching the game it wont work, try plugging it in and then opening the game.

By the way the arena where you fight waves of enemies is extremely rare and you found two next to each other it's incredible!
MINER issue!
Picked this up about a week ago or so and it’s really fun. As someone who loves the action of mining in games, I can confirm that I spend way too much time each map just mindlessly digging.
Reto, you're playing a mining game; of course all your problems are miner!…

Since you mentioned the game not recognizing your controller:
I had the same problem with Brotato if I launched the game before connecting the controller.
If you encounter that problem restarting the game might fix it.
I couldn't help but laugh every time you mention you only have "MINER" issues with this game e.e
This reminds me of Deep Rock Galactic (DRG) another mining game about dwarves mining on a hostile planet called Hoxxes IV, shooting bugs on their way. You should try it one day.
