FRED was selfish by holding
the ball in late 4th quarter
missed 2(3) pointers should have pass the ball and we
wouldn't have to have an
overtime. 🤣😂😭
We wish that unselfish
SCOTTIE will become PG
We know he needs more experience but is going to happen 👍😃🤩❤️
Fred had a great game 6-11 from 3 and exceptional defence on Porzinghis and Beal!! Still a lot to clean up as a team.
Fred Vanvleet plays Point Guard but he is a combo guard at best but should be classified as a Shooting Guard.
is it just me or no one else is seeing in high leverage situation Pascal is just absolutely SHOOK. just let him cook in the early going when he gets to laugh, smile and kekeke and shut him off, preserve his energy and tell him to just play D when it's closing time
Raps, Leeeeeeets Goooooo!
Minus whatever early innuendos were popping off!
I’m glad Samson mentioned that Fred is still growing in his overall skills. And that’s one thing I’ve been thinking: are we comparing Fred to a late stage Kyle? The best Kyle in his early 30s? If so, do you think Fred can eventually grow into that and become an even much better player? (Not to mention the current team’s limitations Fred faces as Louis mentioned.)
The fact that Fred is not a dominant lead guard but good point guard pretty much sums up the argument that he is not the point guard to make the team a championship contender
Pg’s dominate the ball. This modern nba is very Pg usage heavy. This is not an exclusive Raptors situation. The high use of the 3 point shot by a guard (curry) has changed the league.
I would say Pascal's separation is leagues more valuable than Fred's. Fred beats a guy off the bribble with his handle but they consistently recover and he cannot finish threw contact well.. he doesnt have much lift either. Meanwhile Pascal can finish threw contact much better given his Size. And while not being as good of a passer his size allows him far more avaliable passing angles.
The Raptors have disguised their rudimentary offense combined with poor shooting by creating 10+ more possessions than their opponent through offensive rebounds and steals. When you get 10+ more effective possessions than your opponent, you should win. With the Raptors, they need 10 more Possessions just to stay even with their opponent.
Now I’m REALLY curious what you’ve cut out towards the end of the pod. Right after you were talking about debates and arguments. (And yes, it shows that I’m listening right to the end of it!)
i'm so glad Samson brought up game 2 of the season when Raps faced Nets. I rmbr that game like it was yesterday, Pascal made some 3s and was efficient in the early goings, lots of laughing, smiling and kekeke. But when the Nets made their run in the 4th, we looked to Pascal who was nowhere to be found. He's a great player when the going is not tough and if everyone wants to bring up the chip year and game1 or game6, he had big brother Kawhi and Kyle so there's less pressure. When there's pressure like the Philly series, where was P
Lets call a spade a spade. If Fred by your analytics is not a selfish point guard and our halfcourt offensive is, for a lack of a better word, trash, then it would mean he's not a good enough leading point guard. I'm a Raptors fan but I also watch a lot of other teams and let me tell you. The difference between other leading point guard and Fred is that they can easily get pass their man, get to the rim and because of that they can move the opposing team's defensive. Fred is not shifting the defensive with his dribble or his passes. In Comparison Pascal does a better job at shifting the defensive than Fred.
Appreciate your views guys. Few questions mainly for Louis (since he's selling FVV as if he's this generational PG): if both Pascal & FVV are such great players, why is the team below 500 and where we are in standings now? Does our stars not impact winning? If you say Poeltl is a fix all, well, we still lost to good teams after the trade. Why is losing always because the fault of "other" "less experienced players", "bench guys"? Why is it always someone else's fault but not Pascal's or Fred's? Why do we have more losses to +0.500 teams this year, with same team, as compared to last year? if FVV & Pascal are so good, why is our half court offence at the bottom of the league? You are telling us FVV doesn't do hero-ball? Man you are aggressively selling these two guys like we are some top 4 team in the league ! I am just glad that there are some people who will lay down the truth as it is, unlike you.
Appreciate the Ornette Coleman reference
I wanted them to sign Malik Monk so bad..
These comments are a fun time lmao. Apparently if ur not a Kyle Lowry/cp3 level passer ur not a real pg and should just play shooting guard. Which would apply to half the pgs in the NBA
Great podcast you guys. As a die hard Siakam fan, it was nice to hear some objective analysis on his dip in play. I just hope he gets back to energetic, happy got his legs behind him Pascal! He had it down the stretch of last year but this year he seems more worn down. We'll see!
